"Kalaavar, Marksman simply means that ranged auto attacks are a big part of their pattern. Gnar is half ranged, yea but he doesn not have the gameplay pattern of an ADC. He's a ranged/melee fighter hybrid much like Jayce, who is also a "marksman" but not an ADC."

"Sorry, I'd back you if gnar could survive the lane but he simply can't. He'll get bullied to hell and every 2 minutes or so he's forced to either avoid CSing to avoid taking even more damage, or all-in them."

"Gnar being ranged in mini form does not qualify him as an ADC. He has no choice in the matter of going into melee form unlike Jayce or Nidalee, meaning he's even more risky. Not to mention I think he starts with 400 range. He may as well be melee at bot lane at that rate."
