How is Panth so "useless" late game? LOOK AT HIS E. OMFG. This is how you Panth guys. Unless you are against a Nasus, practically ONLY exception. Particularly against Wukong, really works.
You start early game defensively, occasional poke. BUILD AD. PLEASE. OMFG I CAN'T BELIEVE PANTH PLAYERS BUILD TANK. IT MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE. A single burst can dispatch single champions, with full AD. THEN LATER YOU POUNCE, WITH A BUILD OF LIKE 500 AD. How my Pantheon build works. I cannot believe the **** I hear because of how WRONG people play Pantheon.
LoL is ELO HELL. Pantheon players that are like DIAMOND don't even know their champion. Not even ranked. Come on guys. This is embarrassing.

I argue for both his build that is in some cases good to do (for example when you are ahead), that's when you can build ad such as
In fact, what he says is actually a good way to build against champions that benefit from tanky stats, because naturally when they build tanky, they aren't gonna do as much damage as you will do (but they still pose a threat) and when someone starts building tanky instead of damage during the early game, you know you will be safe for a while.
Your point is also right, building only AD is just gonna turn you into a
Basing your build around both damage AND survivability is the most optimal way to build, which I think we can all agree on here.
So to conclude, both you, Janitsu and the @OP are right.
The most common mistake that panth players do in my opinion is the usage of their W in a fight. What most players tend to do(even against champions with escapes) is use your jump first and then just E and Q(or he uses his Q and then right off the bat jumps to the enemy he Q'd,then E), but in my opinion this can be improved against all champions.
Using your W as a last measure to counter the other champion's escape ability or their flash is something I think people should take into consideration, because panth's W has a pretty high cooldown (13 seconds to be exact) and even if the panth would max it first, it would be pointless to waste skill points in it when you could use them to max Q and then maxing E second(because E and Q both scale with AD which is what you will buy as pantheon while W doesn't have an AD scaling).
So using your W smartly is one thing that people should do, because for one you can just walk up to people, auto them + Q + auto and then maybe if you are in a good position where they won't be outrunning you, E(but in my opinion it's not a recommendation to E because you stand still and the other guy will probably run away so you will be forced to use your W to get onto them, which they can just escape).
Panth is in no way useless, it's a misconception that some people just love to tell because they themselves aren't playing panth to his maximum potential and efficiency. Continuing on this, I just wanna say LoL isn't elo hell. Elo hell is a simple way of putting bad players, afk's, feeders e.t.c in one place and putting a name tag on them saying "These belong in elo hell".
See where I'm getting at with this, it's kind of like racism in some sense because you are metaphorically speaking turning these bad panth players into an ethnicity, which frankly is not an over exaggeration because you put it like:
"LoL is ELO HELL. Pantheon players that are like DIAMOND don't even know their champion. Not even ranked. Come on guys. This is embarrassing."
You have to understand, even though you are better than them, they are still human, just like you. They aren't monkeys, they have their own thought process and their own ideas of the game and how to play. Sure you might be right that they play panth wrong, but they just haven't understood his mechanics, his abilities, how to build him or even what masteries and runes he should have.
Don't become an elitist because your ideas are not reflected by the other players of similar champions, because you, me and many others really just want to change this whole situation to something better. That's why a good approach, politeness and constructive critique matters in this world, we want people to actually listen to us when we are upset about something, don't let anger overcome rational thinking.
Hey, look. I just want you to be of help about this, I know you are a nice guy because I've seen your other posts and I do believe you understand that too, don't show yourself as a hostile person to these players, be the bigger man and tell them thoroughly and in detail what they could do better by using your past experience and game knowledge. Keeping your expectations low is the way to go as I say to others when they ask me in game "How are you not raging at these people? They always seem to come with ways to ruin a perfectly okay match".
But nonetheless, you are truly right about what you say here, pantheon shouldn't be dismissed as "useless" just because he is not the same as a
