First of all, my opinion can be wrong on some parts. But the ban priorities are very reliant on what picks there are gonna be from both your team and their team (hence why a more lively discussion in champion select "could" make it easier to make bans that are going well with your team, but I don't see anyone when I play go "Okay guys, what will you guys pick? We need a strategy for the early game and a plan that we can go after so that we will transition into the mid-game and finally to the late game against whatever they pick", but I would just love to see a serious debate in the champ select chat).
Nah, allow that.
1) As if I'm going to believe a bunch of strangers and rely on their 'expertise' in a given lane or with a given champion. I know some high elo players who ban high skill-cap champions like

2) Dictating a plan in champ select will last about as long as it takes to forget it all when the loading screen finishes loading.
3) Who has the time to be debating anything anyway? Once people start talking, it all amalgamates into one useless soup of text where people will misunderstand each other because y'all typing at the same time.
If this was ranked teams, I'd probably agree with you, but it's soloqueue, so you're asking for a lot, to be honest.
Honestly im pondering whether to start banning TF, in my last 5 losses 3 were because the enemy team had a very capable tf LOL
Also, people often forget that they can't reliably fight when they don't know where TF is...
Had a warwick that insisted we fight 2v2... ended up being a 2v3 and we died x) People kept getting caught off guard way too much, and not to mention proceeding to fight 4v5... thinking of picking him up again, seems too good to pass up.

Your second and third point is exactly what I meant when I said "could". You are absolutely right about those two points. I didn't mean to seem like "That guy" who asks so much of people. But I was trying to explain some reasons "why" the bans are not supposed to be relied upon. But from your perspective, yes, I maybe ask too much. It's just some useful info that I've picked up throughout the time I've spent on league. not to be a Mr.knowitall in any sense or form, but to be of help to the OP of this post. Just to break down some things.
I just simply added those things in a ( ) because, it's not gonna happen and that's because, and I quote "2) DIctating a plan in champ select will last about as long as it takes to forget it all when the loading screen finishes loading." and "3) Who has the time to be debating anything anyway? once people start talking, it all amalgamates into one useless soup of text where people will misunderstand each other because y'all typing at the same time."
I honestly think you adressed what I said perfectly.

Lol no one cares about strategy in soloQ, WELCOME TO DA JUNGLE!
I'm already amazed if someone cares to pick a tanky jungler if he/she sees his team is made of squishies, or if they care enough to ask the adc player if they have any support preference.

I almost always ask the adc what support they prefer; it's 9/10 times Thresh.

His ganks aren't super strong though. The ult is pretty good for roaming but against multiple people, if he's the jungler, he gets decimated.
Depends, panth ganks are very strong because it doesn't show the enemy directly that he is ulting, but about 2 seconds after. If a pantheon jungle ganks botlane for example, it can be a really really strong gank if the tribrush is warded (if the enemy is on the red side) or the river brush (if the enemy is on the blue side.
There's also some places like in dragon and or the tribrush behind the t2 red turret that can work as blind spots where panth can ult from. So his ganks with his ult is just sick.

It's stronger in that sense but the past many times the enemy Panth has ganked MY bot lane, it didn't end well for anyone on their team.

I feel like panth jungle is basically hit or miss. He can be a nightmare throughout early mid-mid game, or he can be pretty forgettable junk. He's really scary if you're facing a laner that already has strong CC though, because he can followup with W and he deals pretty solid damage.
Thank you Byron for 2014's loudest laugh up till today
