Who is your favorite Unconventional Support?
Interesting game. I won't spoil the results but as far as Maokai support goes...
He had a solid laning phase as support but seemed very weak mid to late game. He would just get blown up in fights and would either die or would have to run away. Without being in the middle of a fight, all Maokai can do is toss a sapling now and then. I might just have to give Maokai a try in a normal game or two...he could be my main toplaner, jungler AND support!!!
At 38 minutes into the game, Maokai had 8,600 gold and the only items he had were Mobility Boots with Homeguard, Face of the Mountain, Sightstone, and a Null-Magic Mantel (all he added before the end was a Ruby Crystal). He looked like a twig compared to the at or near full build Jarvan and Gnar.

So, Veigar support got played by pros as well.
I don't think Veigar support is viable at all in soloQ (probably in lower ELO yes he is).
If you watched the interview after the cloud9 game LemonNation explained the whole idea behind it which was based on sieging and nothing else.
