Finding a partner through gaming is possible (here I am in a relationship that's been going on for nearly 1.5 years because of this site, primarily), but don't get into something purely with the intent of finding someone though, that's really counterproductive. Misrepresenting yourself and what you like is never the way to facilitate a good relationship. It's really easy to tell little white lies to make yourself more attractive to the people you want to attract online, and that happens fairly often on ANY online medium.[/quote]

Then you can just be honest about your activities rather than lying that you are a fulltime model that likes surfing and is part of a rockband. Finding a partner in an online video game is much more rare as the focus of the game is to play the game rather than to find a partner. That and that you will only play about 50 minutes with each player you meet online.[/quote]

Hell yes. There is a huge difference between randomly finding a date in a game than finding a date in a place where everybody is actively trying to find someone else. About the dishonesty thing; I have dated some guys via a dating site and not one time I noticed dishonesty in comparison to what they said online. The people my age I know who've tried dating through online dating sites mostly seemed to have issues, specifically with people not really being totally honest about a lot of minor things (not lying outright, just misrepresenting stupid shit), for the most part. The people I know who are at least 10 years older than I am, those people seem to have mostly gotten past the immaturity that fuels lying about stupid pointless things to appear more attractive to others, so they didn't seem to have as many problems in that specific medium. I've always thought situations where you actually get to know a person just because you can before deciding to date them lead to better relationships than ones where you only get to know someone because you want a girlfriend/boyfriend/whatever and some site said you're compatible. I've had my fair share of failed relationships, like many people, but they mostly fell apart due to entirely different reasons.[/quote]
