When watching the first episode of Akame ga Kill, I was thinking to myself, "Oh man, this is great. Everyone is so badass and the action is gorey and stylish, I'm going to have a ****ing ball with this."
And then, as the final scenes of Akame ga Kill ended, I just thought to myself, "Well that was ****."
The action sequences are fun, but any attempt at having an emotionally attaching scene were either cringey or laughable as plot points were either horribly rushed or incredibly clichéd. It's an anime that you'll probably enjoy at the time of watching in a similar sense to a Quentin Tarantino film, but it will have little lasting effect on the viewer (unlike a Tarantino film).

I blurted out loud, in a dead silent theater full of teenage girls on opening night "Wait a minute, Edward has no blood flow. How does he get an erection?" I heard several men laughing, and had several girls turn and stare at me.
I did not get laid that night." - Berengier817

B-But Kill The Wild Hunt :<

Honestly, Wild Hunt is probably one of my least favourite parts of the manga, story wise. It brings more bad *** Akame ga Kill action, which is definitely the one thing that White Fox (I believe the studio is White Fox, correct me if I'm wrong) did well, but it feels like padding, because ultimately, they aren't going to make some third leg team be the victors. The only thing Wild Hunt achieved for the story was

The one advantage the manga has over the anime is no restrictions. The biggest downfall of the anime was how rushed it was, and instead of taking it slowly like how they originally were going to and finishing up at around

they went with their own somewhat ****ty original ending, that rushed many story elements. I mean, Wild Hunt literally had one episode in the anime.

Guys, don't be so accepting of horrible storytelling. The manga is garbage.
It's dumb, edgy ****, the series. Kind of like Tokyo Ghoul, but that had some, albeit few, redeeming qualities at the very least. I'd be hard-pressed to find ANYTHING intelligent in the first 10 chapters of AgK!.

Dumb and edgy can be entertaining. I feel like the action scenes with the exception of the

was actually functional.
It's the same reason why things such as Fast and Furious and Mad Max: Fury Road were entertaining. I'm not trying to justify Akame ga Kill as good or anything, I'm just saying that it can very much be a guilty pleasure sort of anime, where you know it's not great, but you enjoy watching it. I enjoyed watching it despite all the clearly visible **** that was with the series.

Oh, no, I definitely agree. But you've been doing a poor job at distinguishing between the two.
