i should be finishing the pc tmr

any feedback on the build will be nice!

you want two 4gb ram sticks instead of 1 8b ram stick for dual channel memory. Also 240gb as the only storage is not exactly a lot. Are you planning to buy a hdd later?

Dear lord, what is that build? Why in the world do you have AMD anything going in there? Especially a 6-core CPU of all things? And, he's right about the memory stick. Also, more cores is for more programs, not performance and AMD don't get that. They don't get how anything works, but CPU's are their worst point.

Quiet PC noob. If people don't want me posting in a thread, then they better close it.

Anyway. I revised your build a bit, slightly cheaper, much better and you can spend a bit extra on a supercharged 960 if you want. However, this is a much better build. I also recommend looking for a different brand case, because NZXT makes **** for cases. Although, I don't know about you, but I am willing to cut up a case to get something to work.

Uh, just going to say that there's nothing filled in where you linked it to.

Nice, join the cool kids club!

What I do wonder is that while 450W is enough for that system, it leaves you very little upgrade/overclocking headroom. It feels a bit weird to go for a high-end PSU with only 450W of total power and may cause you to have to upgrade in the near future.

Aside from that, looks like a pretty good gaming build, it'll definitely serve you well!

Performance difference (for most applications) is negligible really, if there is any at all.

Yeah, hard drive failure would make sense, considering how Vyn pointed out how abnormally high my CPU temperature was and how it could damage it. When the scan runs, well, let's just say there's too many to count. The whole page fills with some sort of corrupt file message. I could run it again to confirm.

Er.. Your CPU temp has little to do with your HDD temp. I think he meant that it could damage the CPU, not the other parts.
But more importantly: got ANYTHING important on the computer? BACK IT UP RIGHT NOW. RIGHT NOW.
If you don't have external storage like USB drives and memory cards to do it with then use something like Google Drive (15GB free space).
Because from how you're describing it the HDD could crash at any moment, making everything on it unrecoverable. (assuming you don't wanna pay loads of money)

Get a new HDD as soon as possible to replace your current one. If you don't need a lot of space then there are good 250GB SSDs to choose from for around 100-ish $. If you need lots of space then I'd recommend a 2+ TB HDD as the smaller ones cost far more per storage size.

Other than the stuff others pointed out, the only thing I'd point out is that Kingston are kind of fishy on the SSD side of things. They've gotten caught doing bait-n'-switch. Which is a pretty deplorable tactic.

cool beans thanks for the replies

the pc is basically only going to be used for gaming and coding so i don't expect to need that much storage

Overclocking basically means to make your cpu run faster at the expense of a higher power consumption and more heat output. You prohably want to go for an overclock because your cpu isn't that great and you might not have enough power in case you also upgrade soemthing else. What Vynertje is saying is that 450 watts might not be enough for that.
Right now you have an 80+gold certified power supply with. you might as well go for 500-600ish watts with 80+ bronze for roughly the same (maybe lower) cost.

edit: I never streamed myself, but I guess you could easily stream stuff like league. It also depends on how good you internet is obviously.

Yeah. In other words:
  • Your power supply has a relatively low wattage (the amount of power it can feed to your components). While it's sufficient for the components you're trying to run, you may run into problems under certain circumstances, explained below.
  • Your power supply is top-of-the-line in terms of efficiency and reliability, but that also makes it very expensive. Investing in a good power supply is very important, but you can get models that are just as reliable (with 5 year warranty) and more wattage at the cost of just a few %-points of efficiency.
  • Overclocking: as Mastrer mentioned, it's simply making your components run faster than they do out-of-the-box. E.g. your GPU is rated to draw max 180W from the wall, but overclocking can make it draw more than that (if you decide to up the voltage, that can make it draw 250W at peak loads). Same goes for your CPU, it's designed to draw max. 95W, but can easily draw 150W if you push it. Combine these two and you have a peak load of 400W from your CPU+GPU alone, adding motherboard and others may cause you to exceed that 450W.
  • Upgrading: if you want to upgrade your GPU in the future, you may get one that has a higher power consumption. For example, my old card was about in the same league as yours, but my current card can draw about 100W more. I'd be a waste of money if you'd be forced to upgrade your PSU along with it, because I'd argue it defeats the point of buying a very high-end PSU.

Your rig should be able to handle League/CS streaming (as long as you don't go overkill on the settings). When not streaming you should easily be able to get 100+ FPS on League (max settings) and probably CS as well. Triple-A titles should run fine on high settings between 40-60 FPS.
