No, that would be even more stupid. You write it as 4.95$. Cents are included in the number and need no explicit mention.

Damn right I don't.
I only care where these things have actual importance for conveying information. Language is a tool for conveying information. If a grammar rule doesn't help in any way or even hinders the primary function of language I will gladly ignore it.
Language is not set in stone. If enough people change the way they speak or write something the language standards will change.
The moment a religious person unknowingly calls his own ways stupid: "And lol. I highly doubt you have magic powers. If you proved it I would believe you, but since you 'refuse to', I choose not to."

Some languages use the convention which puts the currency symbol in the decimal position, so if you would want to omit the cent sign, then you'd just write 4$95, because, after all, we say “4 dollar(s) 95” and not “4 point 95 dollars”.
Saying that this is “even more stupid” completely contradicts your previous assessment that it “makes more sense” to put the currency sign after the value because that matches with how we say it out loud.

In light of the upcoming Star Wars film.

That actually makes a lot of sense. I might start doing that :D

Even more stupid than writing it $4.95. Sorry, should have made that clear.

I believe English was used? Yes, I understand that in certain parts of Canada they put the dollar sign after the value, but that generally means as well that they are speaking of Canadian Dollars.

I don't care :P
OTG got it. It does make a lot more sense to use it after.
Damn, I didn't think Searz would let an opportunity to argue about something go. Also, I wouldn't have imagined that the guy who is pretentious about literally everything – from PC games to their brand of humidifier – does not seem to care about basic grammar rules.
