Talisman of ascension
With its buffs and recipe change I believe it has becone one of the best early items there is for nasus. It gives stuff that Nasus likes: 45 armor, 10% cdr, 150% hp and 75% mana regen for sustain, gold income to keep-up with those hard match-ups, a good enough MS passive and a pretty sweet active that can be used either to engage on a running opponent or to escape a very sticky situation. Couple it with ghost and you become a pretty fast dogge.
Overall, by changing frozen heart with talisman Nasus can keep going the TF route while not compromising too much his utility... the other way around, he might have more utility now than before thanks to this. By going TF, Talisman and Spirit visage you can fetch 40% cdr in only 3 items tough with the need to removing cdr runes. I personally dont see it as a bad trade-off as we can change them with more defensive runes like, more armor and/or more MR runes.
Now, everytime I go Nasus I go Raptor cloak -> Sheen -> boots -> TF/talisman -> Other defensive items depending on enemy comp and it has worked charms.
1. With your build path, you'll not be able to make much out of the favor passive from the ancient coin path, and building an item that doesn't give combat stats against hard match-ups is usually not a good idea.
2. Inefficient: counting all the stats, the item is at 79.7% gold efficiency , the 75% mana regen is not useful as well, especially since nasus base mana regen is low.
3. If you like the
I would like to put your question in my guide, in a new Q&A section, if you agree.
its that trinity force now gives 20% cdr meaning the base build is now 10% cdr over
If the enemy team is a full AD team comp , then you can skip
I will add this part to my guide, with special thanks to your question :).
I guess that Hydra is actually quite a decent item in low elo, especially since getting more cs can make you a lot stronger, and you'll have more time to group with your team after quickly pushing side lanes as well.
However, as you progess further down the ranking ladder, you'll sometimes find that the Hydra may not be the best for every case, some of the reasons are:
1. You will be pushing the lane that you're on, quite fast, which opens you up to ganks, and you'll stack a bit slower, since you'll have to move between waves and lanes more.
2. Your teammates will starve from minion gold or feed from over-extending, since all of the side lanes are pushed.
3. Unless you're playing against a melee team comp, the items provide very little combat effectiveness as well as having very limited synergy with your kit.
Also, you need to priotize CDR items first.
So if you are normal build is SV, TF and FH what is the point of taking CDR runes? Would it not be better to focus on extra defensive stats and just buy CDR as you need it from the shop? I've been having this conundrum since the start of the new season especially now that TF gives CDR. The only thing I've found that works better is going IBG, SV with 10% CDR but then you lack the killing power from TF. And sometimes you ABSOLUTELY NEED that killing power from TF. Just curious on what your thoughts are.
I actually changed the build recently but forgot to update the runes and items build path, thank you for the reminder.
I guess that i'm kinda half a year late :D, However, nasus hasn't changed much since.
I totally agree with you that CDR runes are not necessary anymore, especially after the TF changes in patch 6.11, that's why i put them in the lowest priority. However, against strong AD poke, when you'll need to rush a frozen heart first, having 10% CDR from runes helps you reach 40% earlier, which can be benificial, but other than that, there is really isn't a good reason have CDR runes right now.
For most of the cases,
I made an update to the runes section, with special thanks to you.
