I thought that's how he's usually played. Tanky support is how I think he best fits, with an aegis and a soul shroud as core items.
Also, I find it hilarious that all of you got CS within 5 of each other.
I think stark's fervor is probably good in the situation (considering the twitch and jax, and malph/nasus probably benefited too), but it's situational at best.

I'd say that abyssal scepter and will of the ancients are two aura items that you should definitely buy after soul shroud/aegis. Get armor somewhere in there too. Sunfire cape, if you count that as an aura? haha

So, essentially, an Aura-factory like Taric and Sona?
Nothing wrong with that.
Except the Stark synergizes horribly. Aegis and maybe an Archangel for allowing free-er spell-spam would be good.
