Why build spirit visage on a tank with 0 innate healing ability? I mean it might be viable with warmogs, but as a stand alone item it loses gold efficiency on a champion that makes little use of its passive. Why not just build a banshees veil and ZZ Rot? More useful passives while still providing some MR.

Cheat Sheet

+ Well organized, explained, and clean.

- Why is Riven all alone in the threats section? It would look better if you filled it out or just delete it, instead of being a partly-finished thought.

- Shouldn't Iceborn Gauntlet and Dead Man's Plate be up here? I thought they were amazing items for Malphite. I know you cover them later on in the items section, but you should put them up here so readers can see them at a glance (many readers only look at the cheat sheet while their game is loading).

CheetSheet

+ You obviously put a lot of coding work in here, and it looks quite nice :)

- I don't really understand the point though - the cheat sheet is a summary of the guide, so a summary of the cheat sheet seems kinda redundant.

Introduction

+ Any guide that has the coding templates jhoijhoi and others came up with looks great by default! No extra points for original design, but that lets you focus your attention/time on more important areas so this certainly isn't a bad thing.

+ I like the Rocky quote.

+ You've got everything you need here, so there's not really anything to improve.

Pros and Cons

+ Solid section. Not much to improve on here.

Summoner Spells

+ Solid explanation of the 3 main choices, though kinda brief. Mebbe expand this more?

- If you're looking for one section to spice up with more bbcode, this would be it. It doesn't look bad at all, but there's definitely more room for formatting here.

Runes

+ Perfect rune choices.

Masteries

+ Great job adding the pictures! They always make it better.

- It seems like Merciless would be kinda wasted on Malphite since he really just has upfront burst with RQE. Yes, it does marginally help him finish off a target, but I'd say going 6/6/18 would be better because you can easily proc Expose Weakness with your ult and E, and you deal 2% more ability damage 100% of the time.

- There's also a couple spelling/coding errors here - Though Skin should be Tough Skin , and Savagery is a little more tricky. Put "mastery savagery" in double brackets instead, and you'll see the proper mastery, not Rengar's Q :P

Skill Sequence

+ More nice-looking coding!

- Go further into detail in this section. Explain that since Q has an absurd mana cost in lane, it shouldn't be spammed (and thus probably maxed second). Also, how do you "fake" R? (that's something new to me, so I don't understand how to do it). Put that explanation in the ability explanations section.

Skill Explanation

+ I like the formatting and the structure here!

+ Having that combo explanation at the end was a good addition.

- Put that "faking R" trick here. It sounds pretty cool, so tell us how to do it! :)

- I would recommend putting this section before the Skill Sequence section. It makes more sense for the reader to understand what each ability does before learning which one to max first, so they understand why the skill sequence is in this particular order.

Items

+ I love how you summarized each stat with items to quickly glance over. This makes it super easy to see which ones you need for a particular stat, so good job!

- Could you explain boot choices here? When to get Ninja Tabi and Merc Treads is pretty obvious, but sometimes Boots of Lucidity, Swiftness, or Sorc Shoes are desirable. When should we know when to build them?

Champion Matchups

+ AWESOME coding here! Great setup!

Game Phases

+ Fairly solid explanation here, and the videos help a lot.

- This section could have a lot more content though. What about Rift Herald? If you don't rush Sunfire Cape, which item do you rush instead? Having an explanation of how to trade in lane phase is also really useful (ie. don't fight in enemy minions, don't fight if you don't have a ward out and don't know where the enemy jungler is, don't spam Q so you conserve mana, etc etc).

- Did you ask PantsAreDragon and ScrapComputer for permission to use their videos in your guide? If you did, then props to you, but if not then you should check to make sure they're ok with that.

Warding

+ Great job including this section. Sometimes guides skip over this completely.

+ Pictures help immensely here!

Conclusion:

Overall, this guide is rock solid (hehe). You're on your way to greatness! I'd say it's at a 3 out of 5 right now, but with more TLC it's not far off from a 4 :)

Keep working on this, touch up the few sporadic spelling/coding mistakes, add some more artwork or coding to it, and it'll look much better! Right now the templates you used for some of the sections look nice, but don't be afraid to try out something yourself (like you did in your Masteries section). Having original, unique coding/formatting really shows and gives the guide a "wow" factor.

What do you think about getting 6-6-18 in masteries?

Thanks a lot for suggestion.

I haven't tried it yet, but it could be interesting. With Sorcery and Double Edged Sword you will have those 5% increased damage you would get from Merciless . It's quite bit better because Merciless is limited to 40% of enemy HP. The only downside of picking 6-6-18 is that you will lose Dangerous Game which makes difference in team fights and in early game when you get ignited but manage to kill your opponent first.
Conclusion:
6-6-18 if you are aggressive
0-12-18 if you are deffensive

Solid guide at the moment, but with some added details and descriptions it definitely could be amazing.

Good luck!

Just a few things about items and matchups that I really don't like. Sorry.

Starting Sapphire Crystal or Corrupting Potion isn't the best idea when against tough matchups.

Regarding the matchups:
  • I've never seen an AD Gragas before so I don't think you need to rush Sunfire against him, considering his Q, W, E and R does magic damage...
  • Lissandra is not a hard matchup. She doesn't have enough damage to bully you in lane if you start Doran's Shield and take magic resist glyphs. Once you get Spirit Visage and mercury treads you can 1v1 her. Her Ice Shard mana cost is way to high, and you can just tank her damage when farming because you're so tanky, meaning she can't zone you.
  • How is Gangplank easier to lane against than Shen, Jayce and Garen? Gangplank has a true damage burn, lots of burst and dps, and he has % armor pen with his E. He also does magic damage with his ultimate so you'll take damage one way or another when dueling him.
    ITEMS
  • No Spirit Visage mention. Personally I think it's better than Banshee's Veil in many situations until ultra late game.
  • gauntlet is not "the best item to rush right now" because there are items like items like Sunfire Aegis or Dead Man's Plate that should be built before it, because it allows you to be stronger in lane. Gauntlet it a strong item, but I think it's better as a 2nd or 3rd item unless you're insanely fed and still want to be tanky.
  • As a tank, you want to be focused to soak up damage. Guardian Angel makes the enemy team look passed you, realize you deal no damage, not focus you (so you soak no damage and are only used for your disruption) and then they just jump your team because they're not scared of you being the frontline. They know they can't kill you, so the second best thing is to kill who they can, which is their squishy backline.

Edit: Due to recent changes, Iceborn Gauntlet and Sunfire Cape are incredibly strong items and should be built every game unless you're against a full AP composition. The buffs to both items made Malphite very strong.
