It's something to do between playing around in Photoshop and reading fanfiction :P It doesn't require any attention, it's easy to click around, no commitment. The rogue-like(/rogue-lite) genre kind of fits your description. Here are a few games I'd recommend looking at: Desktop Dungeons, Rogue Legacy, Darkest Dungeon, Sunless Sea and Enter The Gungeon.
