What jungler do you ban? I usually ban lee sin.
I have lost every ranked game with rengar, and lost a few divisions. But now I've won the past 3 games and I think I'm improving. I've gotten to learn how to counterjungle/track enemy jungler, maxing my damage output and limiting my deaths from 20 to 1-5 per game. Keep in mind im bronze II, and have less than 100 games with rengar, so I'm as far from mastering rengar as possible.
I don't think the change from Transcendence to Ultimate Hat is worth it, as the damage you get from going over the Cooldown Cap is so much better then an extra 15% (5 seconds) off your ultimate. With banning, I usually ban champions that ruin my early game, such as khazix, lee sin, xin zhao. These champions will usualy prevent you from gaining an early lead if they are half decent. Keep the Rengar games up! I'll be updating this guide more soon, so stay tuned.
I've followed your exact build and strategy for around 8 games now and I still find it impossible to kill Kroggs (stone monster) in early game. I have 75% of my life left from fighting red buff and kroggs take me out just before i can kill the last few of them. I jump in, and use you tactic for killing kroggs. Maybe theres been a new patch that chnged something? I usually just skip kroggs until I've taken out all buffs on my jungle, then proceed to enemys Red buff, since they are most likely delayed by ganking g our team. BY not ganking the enemy team before lvl 6 nd focusing and rushing all my jungles buffs, I can reach enemy jungle redd buff by the time they are just starting to fight their own red buff. That way I can leap from a bush and take out the enemy teams jungler (Low on health from fighting red buff and ganking our team. So that's an easy kill and that leaves me at lvl 6. Now I proceed to gank the enemy team.
Is this a bad strategy? should I just stick with your guide? Also; how do you suggest I handle croggs in super-eaerly game?
I'm not 100% sure with Kruggs, I'd have to see you play to determine what's wrong. Make sure you are kiting the buffs, so you get an extra hit or two by the end of the buff. Running from them as you fight isn't a bad thing, it's the strategy. Your strategy is OK but is highly dependant on the composition of both teams. Try only doing that when you know you can sky rocket ahead. Most of the time the early game of each lane is the decider for most of the game. Hope this helps.
How come you choose Infinity Edge? Since you're not building any critical chance then why would you choose it? If for the DMG then shouldn't Duskblade be better when the build is very focused on raw AD? (Duskblade gives 75AD + passive vs IE 65AD + 20%.) I'm just really curious since I am focusing on becoming better with him. :)
I thought that with IE in this build that it would result in relying on the crit to sometimes even get the kill when the enemy play more together later on in the game.
I had a theory about the combination with Duskblade and Stromraider's Surge that if you jump on the enemy ADC or APC then leave he/she low enough for Duskblade to finish the job. Then with the movementspeed from Rengar's ult and Stormraider's Surge be able to escape without the enemy team being able to react. What do you think?
But I have a few questions with the build,
- After finishing the jungle item and tiamat, do you finish hydra or build youmus?
- If u go top lane instead, which item would you build to replace the jungle item?
- Would you sell your boots later on in the game, and if, what item? (depending in the situation of course.)
- Should Death's Dance be whiched out with BT in specific situations?
- if you have a horrible early game, when would you consider starting to build tanky? (The tank build.) When you have died a set amount of times or something else?
- In the "normal full build", what defensive items do you suggest (if needed)?
- At which timestamps do you set the early and mid game goals at? (approximately.)
I'm very happy that I found this build and it has helped me a lot. I just reached mastery 7 and i thank you for that. :)
1. If you're snowballing really hard, I'd recommend Youmuu's. If it's going well, but not crazy, Hydra is a good way to go.
2. If you chose to go top lane, Deaths Dance would take the jungle item's place in most cases.
3. If you were to sell your boots, try to keep it to high damage and if possible, CDR. Death's Dance is a reasonable switch, and if you find yourself needing to survive teamfights, even Phantom Dancer can be useful for fighting.
4. Blood Thirster is usually the go to thing, and there isn't really any situations I can think of that would promote the switch.
5. The tanky build is mainly for playing based on either team comp, or strategically. Usually in solo que, there isn't much strategy, so this build isn't used much.
6. The only tanky thing I'd really promote would be Spirit's Visage, due to CDR and Healing Increase.
7. I'll include this in the guide, but usually you should have Warriow and a completed item at around 15 minutes, possibly sooner. At 20, the second item should be there, including boots.
I hope this answers your questions, and feel free to ask any more.
