Wouldn't it be better with 9 AD reds or maybe Hybrid Pen? Mostly because your trading with Meeps hurts a lot, and it's therefore better to wait for your Meeps before trading.

Would Guinsoos be a good buy for Support Bard because of the AP + AD? or are the runes enough AD for him

Absolutely not as a support. It costs way too much to be effective on him, and you would never get the chance to build up stacks on him to be useful. Support Bard doesn't need ad or ap out of lane to be useful or strong, and the AD runes give you all you need for the early game. By the time you get the item, its really just not that useful anymore. It also doesn't synergize well with his kit, I wouldn't recommend it.

COuple questions. Why the cdr reduction runes? You can easily get 45% within your first 3-4 items making your cdr runes pointless. Why not get frostqueen as it sets up your engages quicker and forcing them to flash your ulti? Do you recommend zekes? Why not mobi boots as it helps you get chimes fast enough to group?

1. I like the cdr runes as it gets you to max cdr within 2 finished items and components of a third, meaning you get max by 30 min at the latest, even if behind. cdr is extremely important on him and maxing out is very benificial to you, even if you end up going over later on, but even then you don't waste much if any if you build correct.

2. I dislike frostqueen's claim at a higher rank purely because swiftness boots and merc treads are very popular, both reducing the slow from the active, reducing its usefulness. For engaging fights or forcing them to flash ult, you can do both without the active up and still force fights or force flashs, it doesn't add too much to his ability to ult and it uses up another item slot that could be used better.

3. Personally, I think zekes is ok and very situational. If you're adc is very big and needs the crit, then yes get the item and help build charges etc. If they don't use crit very much or aren't extremely fed, then no. Its not a strong item right now and only useful to snowball a crit based adc further.

4. Mobi boots aren't actually that great on bard as using your ult puts you in "combat" and you lose the ms passive, meaning its harder for you to follow up or reposition to get good wall stuns. Its also fairly hard to use in lane as you should be constantly poking, which removes your ms boost meaning its easier for you to get caught. While it is easier to get chimes fast and such, it only adds 23~ ms at the cap, pushing you just over 600ms at 5 chime stacks, which is great, but really not that effective or useful.

Hi, I was wondering are boots of swiftness still the optimal pickup despite the 6.11 nerfs?

Elderwood Bard | June 2, 2016 3:40pm
I havn't quite gotten to updating the guide, which I will probably do sometime saturday as I have a lot of downtime then. However, briefly, I think the boots of swiftness are still optimal due to the slow mitigation which helps you escape easier, as well as the other contenders aren't as strong. CDR boots make you have too much and you end up wasting stats, and mobi boots aren't good on him as using your ult to catch someone puts you in combat, making it hard to follow up on anything moderately long and not point blank really.
