Very Good guide i hope you put some videos too,it's hard to find new illaoi matchups.
I could certainly record some of my gameplay for you. Any requests on the matchup?
I agree with a lot of things in this guide. And I tried out the Deathfire Touch masteries and I was amazed with the results. I think I just chose the Grasp of the Undying masteries because it was the meta. I think the only thing I did not really agree with is not building a Titanic Hydra on Illoai. I was looking for a first item that provided health and attack damagage on Illoai in my item sets. It came down to three items:
Black Cleaver <---So I don't think this item does enough early game so I don't rush this maybe as 2nd/3rd and so on item or not at all depending on how much armor they have.
So it really came down to
Sterak's Gage
Titanic Hydra
3500 Gold 2700 Gold
Titanic Hydra Sterak's Gage
Health 450 400
AD 35 15-36.25(Depending on Champ level),
HP Reg 100% 0%
Passive cleave scaling with Grants 30 -72.5 AD instead an a shield made up of
health nothing too 30% of your max health for 8 seconds after being burst
special. 45second cool down.
Health - Titanic Gives 50 more HP
AD - Titan gives more until Sterak's is on an Illoai at lv17 then it gives 35AD. I realize that the amount of AD that the passive gives is quite massive, but I prefer consistency.
HP Reg- Underrated stat. Now I am not sure how much health I have with just a Titan Hydra alone, but I am going to choose a safe number like 2000. Illoai is one of those champs with high base health 9.5 - 23.1 HP5 ticks every second. So can be read as 1.9 - 4.62 health per second. Hydra doubles this amount. 3.8 - 9.24 health per second.
Lets say we have a Hydra at lv1 and 2000 HP kind of underestimating here.
2000/3.8 = It takes about 526 seconds or just under 9 minutes to get back to 2000HP, but wait we have Recovery so we actually have 5.8 Health Regen per second
2000/(3.8 + 2.0) = 344 seconds So it takes about just under 6 minutes to get back to 2000HP
My point is that the value may seem small but it really adds up over time and the amount of HP gained over time is even more noticeable when stack with other items with health regen and I am not even talking about Warmog's.
Passive- The cleave on Titanic Hydra is nothing special I will admit, but I see it more of a bonus that has it uses it helps me clear wave to land E's when my tentacles are not around or in reach of the wave to clear it.
Now I know a lot of people build Sterak's for the passive effect, but I feel like the 8 second duration and 45 second cool while it may seem short and while it may be up every teamfight, the shield is to unreliable because it may go off at the wrong moment. Or better yet what if they don't burst you down? How many people actually focus the tank? What if your so fed that you actually wipe out the enemy team before they could get enough hits off to proc the passive? You see I have a reliability problem when it comes to this shield.
Any that was my tangent on Hydra vs Sterak's feel free to agree or disagree. I don't think Sterak's is useless though I think it just depends on your playstyle.
Anyway good guide going to up vote this one I liked everything else about this guide.
Hey, man! Thanks a lot for taking the time to read my guide and give me some feedback. I really appreciate it.
I started to experiment a lot with
I think you might have a misconception about
As for health regeneration being an underappreciated stat, I agree. I don't think we care a lot about it on
