Nice guide, I'm totally new with Poppy never played her before, this really helped me out! Did you give your tips against major threats? Maybe I missed it.

This guide isn't so much focused on lane matchups as it is on describing what Poppy is designed to do and what builds further help her do this.

Great guide for a new player. Thanks. Interested in your thoughts on the Scaling Health Seal vs. the Armor Seal.

Great guide for a new player. Thanks. Interested in your thoughts on the Scaling Health Seal vs. the Armor Seal.

Since Poppy, in my recommendation, builds full tank anyway I usually don't feel like I need to build scaling health. They aren't "bad", I just think that since Poppy comes with a +15% resistances that I can take flat armor and magic resist runes into a blind matchup and have a smooth transition from early game tankiness, with flat armor and magic resist, into full 99% unbreakable tank. If you know what kind of composition you are going against and don't feel the need for armor then by all means take the scaling health.

My Problems with your guide:

Runes: Unless you're playing her jungle, never go AS quints. Just get flat AD.

Masteries:
Resolve - I don't understand why you think perseverance is remotely good on Poppy. Get Fearless to replace it, since you dive a lot onto the enemy ADC.
Ferocity - Never, ever get expose weakness in a solo lane. And fury is inferior to sorcery.

Abilities: (My BIGGEST issue with your build guide)
What the hell are you thinking? You never max out W over E even against Yasuo. This and your flawed itemization lead me to about you know how to play Poppy.

Itemization:
Frozen Heart - An extremely bad buy on Poppy, as she gets enough CDR from her items. It also doesn't give health, and because Poppy is a tank, Randuin's Omen is always better.
Edge of Night - Stop recommending Assassin items on Poppy.
Mercurial Scimitar - The active is unnecessary and you don't need that much life steal. This item is for ADC's, Assassins, and Fighters. Not tanks.
ZZ-Rot Portal: No, just no.
Talisman of Ascension? Ruby Sightstone?: Is this a towplane, or support guide? If it is support, you're still building wrong. You should be building Relic Shield, not Ancient Coin, and Ruby Sightstone isn't a "Health Item", you buy it for it's passive.
Zeke's Harbringer: It's a S***ty item.

Don't make a guide if it gives ban information, and if you lack experience on a champion.

1: Attack Speed vs Attack Damage quints, it's a personal thing.

2: I never said Perserverance was good? I say throughout my guide I think HP regen on Poppy is not optimal. Fearless is a good mastery, I just prefer Insight so I can have my Flash available more often.

3: Expose Weakness kicks in during the teamfight phase of the game. also I'm not a huge fan of either of the alternatives in this mastery line.

4: Why would I take Sorcery? Sorcery seems to increase a champion's Ability Power, not the damage of their abilities. Poppy almost doesn't have any magic damage in her kit, and buffing the damage on her W is worthless. I will stick to my trusty attack speed thank you very much.

5: the decision to max W before E comes from the fact that I prefer the increase in the movespeed from W than the increase in stun time from the E. I've preferred to move speed to get into places to make plays rather than have more damage from my E. It's a personal preference thing.

6: Flawed itemization? If you are referring to my extensive list of items, some standard and some less standard, I give a wide list of potential options. Some options are obviously better than others in a standard game, but in a non standard game the less standard item picks come into play.

7: If you are against enemies which rely on attack speed/ auto attacks to deal their damage then yes you will be buying this item. Usually you don't need this item because you build Iceborn Gauntlet but champions like Vayne, Twitch, Kog Maw, etc who rely on attack speed get their DPS reduced by this item.

8: Edge of Night, Mercurial Scimitar: these are options to consider, not always appropriate of course, but against an all AP team they work.

9: ZZ rot portal: you are wrong, this is a good item on any tank.

10: Talisman of Ascension: This was listed as primarily an item to buy on ARAM and a POSSIBLE 6th item on Summoner's Rift. This is an unusual buy, but since it comes with a small amount of armor it's a possibility to use against primarily AD comps, or to use as as 6th item to just dork around.

11: Ruby Sightstone: This is meant to be an option for Top lane if and only if no one else on your team is warding. It's an item you buy when absolutely necessary.

12: Zeke's Harbinger: Did you not read the part where I say this isn't a reliable 1-5 item? I say it's a situational item for a specific purpose and it still is.

Where in this guide do I present "bad information". I tell you the specific reasons I buy items, some with more specific circumstances than others to make work that others, I give my reasoning for why I prefer to take which mastery and runes. I did update my ability maxing order to offer a description to why I max W before E, but I still prefer maxing W to E.

1. If it's personal, it's fine.
2. You put perseverance in your mastery tree.
3. Expose weakness isn't worth it. Fresh blood is too good to give up because of how well it synergyzes with your passive.
4. Sorcery increases the damage of your ABIITIES not AP. That means it buffs her Q, W, E, and Ultimate. "Thank yo very much"
5. If it's a "personal thing" it's not something you recommend that others do. Hence why I called it "bad information" E is always superior to W.
6. It's flawed either way
7. No, get Randuin's instead
8. They are never appropriate. If you want damage, get maw. For defense get banshees, visage, etc.
9. It's not.
10. It's not worth it on summoners rift. Righeous Glory essentially does the same thing, but better on Poppy.
11. When does this even happen? Never.
12. It's never situational. Unless you have perfect communication and are playing poppy support in a good matchup, do not but.
