On future monitors? Definitely. There will without a doubt be FreeSync monitors with full adaptive sync frequency spans. The problem is currently that these scalers aren't made specifically for handling adaptive sync, like the custom made one Nvidia is using for G-Sync. They've essentially just taken existing scalers and hacked in the adaptive sync functionality. Scalers are what allows screens to use other resolutions than the native one, without one the screen would only work at the native resolution. The scaler also handles updating frequency, as you might have suspected.[/quote]
