Yesterday I finished 7 Deadly Sins, but I doubt it's what you're looking for. I guess it's kinda like Fullmetal Alchemist if it was a 7-8 instead of a 9-10. Still a good series to watch I guess.

Finished Toradora today, really liked it. The first anime I've finished in about... 9 months, I believe (and that was a rewatch of Deadman Wonderland).

^ I liked Toradora too, watched that a while back. I think we discussed it briefly here as well but it's probably not worth it searching back for it.

Does anyone have any recommendations for fairly recent anime? I like ****ty comedy, seinen, mystery, psychological stuff and whatnot. I haven't really found anything entertaining for the past few seasons, but maybe I just haven't been looking in the right places. (please no continuous time reverse, I've had enough of that for the next 3 years)

I'm currently reading Full Metal Alchemist, first time I actually take a look at the series. Pretty enjoyable so far. I should've listened to all those people telling me to look at it ^^

I binged Orange last weekend (finished it in 6 hours actually) and I must say it was good, but a bit too heavy for my taste. I don't think it is something you are looking for tho @ Latest Legend.
The only thing I still need to start is the sequel to Ao no Exorcist. If you haven't watched that I'd definitely recommend that one ^-^

@ Xeres: Seems like you're into more serious / psychological / suspense type of anime. There isn't anything really good airing right now but some shows released in the last few years I'd recommend are:

Zankyou no Terror
Boku Dake ga Inai Machi
Re:Zero
Shiki
Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica
Zetsuen no Tempest
91 Days

Seen zetsuen no tempest, madoka and shiki. Madoka was cool, Zetsuen no tempest was pretty nice for the first half (called it my favorite for a while) and shiki was... something :D I liked the artstyle but it didn't really do it for me.

I definitely like the more psychological types though, and I feel like there really hasn't been too much I could get into lately...

Even nostalgic half comedies like Pandora Hearts are rare nowadays :<

Anything from the list you feel like could be a serious contender for a 'psychological' anime?

Out of recent releases I really liked Sakamoto and Flying witch, but that's about it. (guess that's not quite recent, is it? :D) So my watching spectrum isn't really limited to just suspense, but I still feel like there's been a lot of "****" (for my taste, anyways) airing recently

+1 for Subete ga F ni Naru, was pretty fun. I also enjoyed Death Parade (some sort of expansion of the Death Billiards movie if I read it correctly)
