i've been going yasuo/thresh botside with my brother, and i never thought to go look at guides which was a mistake.
not only did my thresh gameplay become significantly better, so did my overall support knowledge. i still have much more to learn, considering i joined late august, so i look forward to your future guides.

Yo! I like ur guide so much Its so good for new players that want to play thresh. And i'd like to ask u do u think thresh is less powerful after the nerf in patch 9.4. Thank you! And good luck grinding in season 9!

Kilo Khaos (15) | March 2, 2019 2:11pm
I think the nerfs make his laning less oppressive, but not awful. He'll still be strong, just not in as good of a place as before. The mana nerf doesn't do much as you go Ancient Coin often, so you don't miss out on mana regen. The hook being increased by 4 seconds at level 1 does mean you may not have the liberty to put a point or two into Flay in most games, as you need to get the cooldown shortened ASAP.

Yo, you do know thresh's W has only 50 range (950) less than
Approach Velocity (1000) right? That renders it kinda useless for rescue purposes...

Hey
Im dumb at this game and i like to ask one thing:
Hextech Flash is good?Because i think that the principe of flash is to run away or chase, but since you have to canalise with that,in wich situation does i have to use it?
Also great guide, even for someone like me it's easy to learn and very powerful.

Kilo Khaos (15) | January 7, 2019 11:00am
Hextech Flashtraption is useful on champs that lack the range to actually get in and do their job without making it obvious. Alistar is someone who uses it well, because the range of his Headbutt is relatively short. Since your Death Sentence and Flay are both ranged abilities, you aren't at a range disadvantage. While it's not necessarily bad on Thresh, there are better options that aren't as niche as Hexflash.

It's pretty amazing how well-organized you keep so many crucial information in your guide and it's still very clean and good-looking.
I really looove your tips and tricks section as well as the special synergy one.

Love the look of this guide and all the information you provide! I love all the different builds! Is there any match ups that would prefer Relic Shield or Ancient Coin?
1
Kilo Khaos (15) | December 2, 2018 7:51pm
It's basically Ancient Coin only as of late.

Oh dayum. This is a ✦divine✦ guide *-*. I love the layout and I think you wrote all the info you needed. The matchup section is so helpful and I can see you put a whole lot of time into this since it's so detailed. Thresh is a very good support at the moment and this guide is just what I needed. (If I spot a Thresh who seems to be using this I guess I'll know what to do xD)

What matchups should I take Ancient Coin or Relic Shield into? I'm assuming Coin in melee matchups and Relic in poke lanes because of the sustain provided? Or am I completely wrong? Thanks!

Kilo Khaos (15) | October 26, 2018 4:55pm
At this point in time, Relic Shield should almost never be considered. The health is worse, your auto attacks are ranged thus not providing the full healing benefit and making acquiring stacks harder, and the bonus gold generation is sub par. Ancient Coin is providing move speed for roams, a good chunk of CDR quite early in the game, and great gold regen., as well as the mana coins.

Sounds great to me, I honestly never like going Relic Shield when Coin is an option just because of the superior gold generation that Coin offers over Relic. I guess the fact that Thresh is ranged only makes the decision easier. Thanks for the answer, much appreciated!

First of all, great guide. Lot's of details and much information.
I still have a few questions though.

- Have you ever considered Turbo Chemtank in your Thresh build? I think the base stats are nice as it gives you quite a bit Health and mana. And the active effect which can speed you up and slows down the enemy seems very powerful on picking off opponents.

- In your vs. section you mention that Fiddlesticks in really easy to lane against (1/10). However, since you're squishy early I feel like Fiddle can be a complete nightmare to lane against if he is skilled, since the E can still easily bounce to you even though you take distance. How do you feel about that?

P.S. upvoted the guide since I really think it's a great one. Keep up the nice work.

Thanks, it's only going to get longer from here.

As for Turbo Chemtank, you don't need an extremely large mana pool. Considering how you'll be a tanky initiator, you'll likely run out of health before mana. Also, the item synergizes better with people who are expending a lot of mana (such as Singed, where damaging him gives him mana to use his Poison Trail and having it toggled on heals him). Since you won't be doing that, it's better to opt for more armor/mr and utility than a bit of extra mana.

Fiddlesticks can poke you in lane with his Reap, but that's all he can do against you. Other than that, he really has no serious impact during the laning phase. Even if he were to buy mana regen. ( Spellthief's Edge, Ancient Coin, etc.) he'd still be extremely strained on mana. And that's assuming you don't punish him any time he comes close to a minion wave. If you can zone him to the point where he can't use his Reap, he's just sitting in lane not doing anything. Any attempts at using his Bountiful Harvest would result in him getting hooked and trading over an easy kill. He's definitely someone you can bully in lane.
