considering her low range why dotn' you contemplate going botrk first buy for the early lifesteal. I understand the idea behind going crit because she scales beautifully with it however in my mind xayah is a mix of caityln+kalista but lacking the range of caitlyn. The reason why caitlyns often live through laning phase and can greed into full crit from the get go is becuase of her range. Xayah doesn't have that so woudln't building an item with lifesteal be more beneficial as it gets her through the early parts where shoudl coudl possibly be harassed. In my mind she's a great botrk/ruunan's champion even though she has so much innate waveclear I'm looking at the on hit effect from botrk when in a close range team fight. Idk I tried doing botrk into double zeal items and she feels amazing cuz the feathers come out way too fast so you can get quick roots in with her bladecaller. I'ts less so of doing the most with the fewest it's more like doing enough while setting up for a root so you can have an easier time kiting for more feathers ifyou get me?

Rushing BOTRK just seems silly too me. No one is ever going to be tanky enough early game to make use of the passive so the items value is diminished completely. Even more so with the 100 extra gold you need to complete the item now as of 7.9. If you really need too, maybe an early vampiric scepter, only 5% less lifesteal than BOTRK, so 10% should do fine. Then start building Reaver or something.

I Enjoy this build in term of its Offence, but I', having trouble earlier in the game with Xayah armor/defence. It's making me stay back more and just try to live untill i'm around level 8 or 10 before i'm comfortable in not feeding

Would you like me to post some videos on how to lane with Xayah in the early game and against certain match ups? Champions like Caitlyn/Jinx definitely have the edge over you because of their range.

Not much you can do early to get more defence as you would never build armor/defence early.

This may also be because of your support. Are they aggressive, passive, poke, melee, ranged? This can decide what you're capable of. If you're in low ELO and your support is standing a ton of units behind you, not doing much, then it's not your fault as the support usually dictates the lane. Or maybe you just need more practise.

If you really want, give me your summoner and I could spectate a game and help you out that way.

That video or spectate would be awesome! I have realized my Support has to be playing well, i've gotten the hang of Xayah and know how to timely use her attacked as a chain.

E will be the main damage dealing ability as the number of feathers count more damage.

Isn't it better to max Q first, then E ? Q is your damage dealer, then you double the dmg by E.

Q isn't your damage dealer. It's only purpose is to spawn 2 feathers, and last hit minions from far away.

Good question, I will make a GIF and place it in the ability section tomorrow to help explain why. It's 2am so i'm a bit dopey and don't have a clear head at the moment.. xD
