I've got about 20 Kayn games under my belt with a lot of loses trying to figure him out (and get the icons) and I'm only now turning out relatively consistent to even good performances, so he certainly takes a while to figure out.
Runes:
Really good point about both portions of Q having fixed damage to jungle mobs allowing you to run full lethality. Definitely going to have to give that a try.

Incidentally a section on how to use your ult would also be good. Or maybe better yet on how not to your your ult. I had a
But I've also had them either panic or not notice that I've ulted them and then walk back into their team which was a free initiation onto their squishy backline.

As you mostly agree with masteries/runes I won't cover them.
Build going DD before TBC ia good in 3 situations. First, you're snowballing so you don't need the HP/Armour shred early, but in the near future they'll have armour so lethality won't be as useful. Second if they have duelists you need to deal with. Pre 3 item Yas, even item Camille, strong Kled... You get the idea. Third when they have several instances of % max HP or % current HP phys/magical damage. If you're not in those 3 situations, TBC is more useful. Keep in mind, if you're snowballing and buy DD instead of TBC you'll have a bias view of thinking "I do better with DD" without taking into consideration you might be snowballing when you do it.
I wasn't clear on the Rhaast Favoured part of the cheat sheet. They're iteme Rhaast likes as they have natural synergy with the playstyle of the skirmisher. You never buy both, and Maw/Gage are not core. If you go down to "Example bruiser build" being more accurate to a full item Rhaast, maw and gage are not mentioned. It's just that if you're SA you usually just need to stack lethality out the yazoo to be useful.
There are not many combo's because
A section on using your ult is something I should add, and I will in the next update. Problem was that on the PBE/first week of blind picks (ranked was nearly always banned, I only got him 4 times and again, didn't learn much) people had no idea how to deal with the ult. I got flashes, jumps, dashes and blinks where if they simply waited half a second more they could of escaped. Now that he's been played in the LCS and has been out for a while, there is more depth to
Had a game last night where I went 6-2-3 as
I haven't much success playing the SA version of Kayn, so I almost always choose Rhast. Though assassin play has never been my strong suite, which may have something to do with it.
Yeah, the ult definitely has some nuances to its use. Case in point I ulted a
SA is flat out weaker than Rhaast right now. It's more fluid, but doesn't do enough damage. The upcoming ult ratio buff is good, but they also need to change the passive (pre-mit or simply higher %). You should always be Rhaast, at the moment, if you're try harding to win.
