I've always played Ahri as an assassin over anything else and my favorite version of her was when she had the damage amp on Charm, so it'll be cool to see it back. Even if they choose to go with a version without the damage amp, she's trading movespeed for damage which I'll take any day.
I think she'll end up being over-tuned tbh, but I won't be complaining :^)
Also, looks like it's being delayed til 8.7 or later.
Did you really? Or are you just pretending you did to have an excuse to comment to farm raffle points?
You go into so much (unnecessary) detail, for example, your elaboration on single runes (every specific rune you deem worth using) is nearly as long as a half-***ed lower level university essay. One would almost think that you're trying to make it this long just for the sake of word count, which you seem to value very highly. This can be further backed up by the fact that your changelog is also ridiculously long - for some reason you go so far as to provide reasoning for why you changed X or Y while you already did that in the guide itself. All those little unnecessary things that I've come across while skimming through your guide, all those smiley faces and thank yous in the changelog actually only serve to feed your word count which you so often brag about.
In terms of builds, there are points I disagree with, but there's no point in arguing that. As someone who mostly plays Ahri, you obviously know how she works, but this guide is far too long-winded. People upvote it because they're overwhelmed by the length of it - they just assume it's a great and quality piece of work. Keep it concise and to the point, omit unnecessary information that should really be self-explanatory to anyone with even a piece of brain. Your guide being long doesn't necessarily imply it's good, contrary to what sheep might think.
Man, I must be a horrible person to have read the whole guide.
You know, you might have a point about long guides, but did you look at the tile of this guide?
Your point is based on this for everything, but honestly... You're wrong. I read everything, because there is a lot to learn in what was writen. This is a guide, not every reader have the same level in the game. Sure, plat players for exemple will just look for what to build or matchups, but just imagine you're starting LoL, discovering that you're fond of Ahri and you find a guide telling you "Go build this, this, and this, play under your tower for this matchup, and f*ck you for the rest just find out by yourself", will you be happy ? Well I won't, because I won't learn anything. This guide explain you why you should be doing this or that when you're against some matchup for example, which is far more interesting imo. But you may be right, it's not a simple guide, it's more a "How to play Ahri", and again, this is far more interesting if you really wanna learn things about the champ and master it. And in my case, I'm kinda disappointed when I really want to start to learn a new champ and find nothing more than a build and a section matchup which does not cover more than 50% matchup.
In the end, it's just a matter of opinion. But I really find you way too salty when giving yours, you could be a little more gentle before assuming things that imply other people than just you.
I'll address a couple of things you said here a sec.
I can see why you would think that, but I didn't include the changelog in the word count.
A lot of readers are new to League, or new to Ahri and so information that is pointless to most is still valuable to some. This Guide wasn't made for people that already know how to play Ahri, or even understand the basics of League for that matter.
At the end of the day, I mostly understand where you're coming from believe it or not. Your comment has genuinely made me feel pretty bad in all honesty. I'll try and look for ways in which I can make it more concise, but I don't have a lot of free time right now.
I agree, that if you were saying this was a normal guide, the guide is too long. BUT! The name is "COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE".
This guide has taught me a lot about Ahri, and I love the detail. It answers all of my questions about her, allows me to understand her kit better, and has made me into a better player as well. One of the things that makes this guide so amazing is the choices that you give the reader. You don't tell people "Build these items" or to "Take these runes" without any reasoning behind the choices. You also explain other option that someone can do, which allows for people who aren't that knowledgeable about the game to learn more and imagine more possible combinations that what the meta currently is.
I want to tell you my story about what I learned from this guide, not only for Ahri but for other champs as well, but I don't have much time right now. Maybe at a later time.
But I want to make sure you understand Ferret.

N.B. People don't read opening books from cover to cover either; they read what is relevant and required (the rest is optional). But what is relevant and required varies from person to person; in a, say, repertoire for Black; some people might have trouble against one particular sideline (analogous to, say, Ahri vs Cho); while others would want to dive into the mainlines (Ahri vs common mid matchups). So no part is overall redundant; though subjectively it might seem so.
