That used to be pretty fun :D
Yeah I mean if they're already on top of your booty then you might wanna have barrier, whatever works best for you <3
I just play as Jerry (the mouse from Tom and Jerry) and always roll with exhaust and flash. I make sure they never get on my booty. It's really a cat and mouse game. Kinda like being an assassin, but instead of finding opportunities/moments to execute your enemies you dip in and out of situations to help your teammates with phat heals, silences and damage reductions.
I always say, whatever works best for you, roll with that. Forcing someone to play a certain playstyle doesn't work in their favour. It's just what I found myself working the best for me.
Have fun :D
How was Mordekaiser's room like, was it messy? Filled with metal band posters and electric guitars? Jokes aside XD Good job on escaping the Death Realm! He should've just went with Morellonomicon.. or Thornmail if your team was heavy on physical dmg.
All you gotta know is that the GW items apply 40% healing reduction. Both Chemtech Putrifier and Morellonomicon applies GW by dealing magic to the enemy champions, whilst Thornmail applies GW when champions auto attack the player with Thornmail.
All three of them can also increase the effect to 60%. For Chemtech Putrifier it's healing or shielding allies. For Morellonomicon they gotta be under 50% of their max hp. For Thornmail your enemies got to be immobilized.
There's not much you can do against anti-heal, it's a counter build item. Things you can do however is dodging abilities so that GW doesn't apply on you. That way atleast you still get full benefit out of the heals from landing Q's and using your R.
EDIT: As of patch 11.18 when using R, Grievous Wounds gets removed from all targets before applying the ultimate heal.
Hope that helps!
It'd be a blast hanging out with you <3
If anyone else reads this feel free to join aswell, everyone's more than welcome :D
also wanted to ask what you think of redemption? most other guides of soraka I see tell us to rush it or after ardent sensor, so would like to know your opinion about why you don't usually build it.
And your opinion of gathering storm vs waterwalking, gathering storm seems to synergy better with your build since you will get even more ap
I've had similar questions asked before, it was quite a while ago though. At the very end of the items chapter I mention to get Needlessly Large Rod after Rabadon's.
So you're right about Tear being an item you want to get early on in the game to stack it, however I only do this on high mana cost champions such as Nami, Sona or even Janna.
I feel like on Soraka you won't be needing as much mana (compared to the other champions) therefore I completely skip it. If the game goes on for that long I would go from Needlessly Large Rod 6th item straight to Archangel's Staff (and then stack it with the full build). Getting more AP is the main focus after 4th item pretty much.
Obviously games rarely go on for that long, but if they do, you'll know what to be building. As for the other high mana cost champions I usually get Tear after Frostfang is completed and finish Seraph's before Rabadon's to get the active shield powerspike earlier and hope the game ends faster, and if it doesn't it'll be a Needlessly Large Rod into Rabadon's with a larger gold gap to complete it (the trade off I make).
So the problem I have with the rune Gathering Storm is that it scales way way wayyyy too slow. However the scaling is really really REALLY insane. Meaning IF you get to super late game (50+, 40+ or even 30+ mins) it'll be SO good, but like I mentioned before since that's not always the case (very rarely), the rune is pretty bad. I think it would see more play if the scaling had a 10 or even 5 mins shift earlier.
It's better to pick one of the other two runes. Scorch has some pretty good poke though it recently got a slight nerf, still seems alright. Waterwalking seems to be pretty decent for extra movement speed when warding in the river and around the enemy jungle, plus some scaling AP when in the river.
So, some of the reasons I don't like Redemption is:
- The 2.5s delay on the active. I'd rather see it being 1.5-2.0s. Alot of times you can end up jebaiting your own teammates and they end up dying.
- 200hp stat line is kinda a waste on Soraka due to how her W sacrifice own health healing works.
- 10% cdr, keep in mind you don't wanna overcap cdr, so you'll either have to replace one of the items and/or grab Transcendence. I don't feel like those are great options.
- Team has to be very coordinated to make the most out of your active.
- You already have R so I don't know if getting a second similar thing is worth it.
I don't think Redemption is the worst item, it's fairly decent, but it's the collection of little things that makes the difference. It's upto you if you're better with it or not. If you really want to be using it, you'd probably wanna swap it out with Ardent (even though it's still a great item), because I believe Athene's is superior to Ardent as of now. Redemption base mana regen would also sync very well with Athene's passive giving extra AP. Or swap both Athene's and Ardent for Mikael's and Redemption which would not only sync very well with the hp regen but also Redemption's active with Mikael's % heal and shielding power, for a more safer playstyle.
Hope that answers your questions :3
