Having a lot of HP and Damage is nice but attack speed is missing. This seems to be a damage/hp hybrid with not a lot of tanking and not a lot of DPS either. It would make you survivable but not truly useful in battle I think.

Thank you for your comment, but you seem to be making assumptions. Have you tried the build? Attack speed is there, but I believe it is not completely necessary on Jarvan. I will look into Berserker's Greaves once more. However, rather than saying that it is a damage/hp hybrid thus it is incapable of tanking or damage, if you play the build, you will see it is a damage/hp hybrid so it is capable of doing both. Furthermore, what is the point of damage if one cannot live?

I will continue trying out different items, but if you could perhaps try out the build you are down voting in the future before making assumptions, it would be most appreciated.

I'm making this build out to be DPS, because you mention damage, and armor pen a lot. That does mean you're lacking one crucial factor. Attack speed. Especially since you decide on merc treads, you will have a total of +0% attack speed. Em, see a flaw here?

I don't like sunfire, because you won't be sitting in battle very long, Jarvan is more hit and run, (dash and run rather) Guardian angel is rather worthless since the nerf.

Another point, in one of the builds, you get infinity edge. The main reason for getting inf. edge, is for the 250% crit damage. This build has extremely low crit chance. (18% from atma's) so, you see what I'm getting at?

You did a great job explaining black cleaver, nice.

Force of nature is a bad item on Jarvan, in my opinion. The magic resist is really sweet, and so is the passive, but it's not worth your cash.

Sorry, I'm not going to up/down vote because I own my own Jarvan guide, and I see that to be a bit biased and unfair, but I will give you some constructive criticism.

Thank you for your feedback. I can understand how attack speed can be important, but I have been getting mixed responses. Some people say Mercury Treads. From my experience, I have tried both boots and have found Mercury Treads to be very useful, but perhaps I will try Berserker's Greaves again. But in any case, you said that my build has 0% attack speed boost. That is wrong. It seems that you forgot Black Cleaver which does give 30% attack speed boost.

As for your comments about being a hit and run character, I do not fully agree with that. I see Jarvan as a team fight character as clearly defined by the nature of his banner skill. Thus in a team fight, running away is not always the best option. Being able to stay there with one's team is crucial. To do that, one will need some armor and health. Sunfire gives both in addition to a bonus boost in damage. Guardian angel is taken for a similar reason. It provides both armor and magic restance. There are few items which provide both. I am rather new to this game, so I do not know what Guardian Angel may have been like before, but it still seems like a good item to me.

Although, one of the defining qualities of this build is the flexibility. It is built around what the enemy team is running. If they are physical damage based, a Sunfire Cloak is something to consider. If they have more varied damage, different items should be looked at. This is perhaps where I am having some troubles; I am still trying to find the best items based on the a given situation.

As for your comment on Force of Nature, I do not find it a completely bad item on Jarvan. If the enemy team has a large amount of magic damage, Force of Nature is very useful. In addition, it is not very costly considering it would be a very late game item if needed, and at that point, one usually has money to spend. However, if you think it is not a good option, is there something better you would reccomend for magic resistance?

All in all, thank you for your comments. I will continue looking at the various items available and if I find one to be better than another, I will switch it into my build. Berserker's Greaves are something I will look at again. Although, I find most other attack speed items to not fit in very well with a Jarvan build.

Mhm, liking it. Because it's very well balanced and it's total cost isn't astronomical. Another good point was telling people diffirence between armor reduction and armorpenetration. Since lot of people don't know that there is a diffirence.

One option you can consider is making Phage earler ^^ 1+ from me.

Thanks for the comment! I ended up changing around the build a little and added Phage earlier. I like the results. Turned into a Frozen Mallet it allows for good survivability and the construction of situational items later on.

Honestly I've been looking for a lot of builds, played many games, some didn't turn out too well. But I'm really liking this build decent survivability and good damage although many of my games end fairly early mainly because of my team (not in a good way) so I don't get to build all of it. But +1 from me.

Thanks. I found that, at least for me, a glass cannon Jarvan doesn't work. Rather, I prefer a good mix of damage and survivability on him. I'm glad you like the build and hope you have better luck in future matches.

Interesting, I will try out Tiamat. I agree Black Cleaver is great on Jarvan, but I dominate games building Madred's first, you should try that.
