Why is comment to vote an allowed option if you can simply vote with a random letter, string, or a simple "+1" and that counts as a legitimate vote. Seems kinda arbitrary.
Thank you Jovy for this bomb *** sig!

Comment to Vote identifies the voter and the nature of the vote for the first 20 votes of a guide (if the author uses the Force Comments option). Some people like this feature because it dissuades some people from downvoting (since they'd have to identify themselves). Personally, I'm not a big fan of Comment to Vote because it stops a lot of people who would have otherwise voted, the majority actually being upvotes.

The reason we don't enforce strict rules about what the comment has to contain is because MOBAFire votes in general don't have to include justification from the voter. As useful as criticism can be, and as nice as detailed positive feedback is, we don't expect every voter to post a lengthy justification for their vote, up or down. This principle applies to C2V votes the same way it applies to anonymous voters. If someone wants to upvote a guide with the comment "+1" or downvote with the comment "-1" or "asdf" or something useless like that, that's their prerogative. The only thing they have to do is leave some sort of comment.

If the comment is particularly nasty, we will of course review it and edit the comment if necessary, though in simple cases of excessively aggressive comments, we will moderate the comment content itself without removing the associated vote.

There are some cases where we do step in and remove votes. For more detailed rules on those circumstances, please see my earlier PSA on Voting Rules.
Thanks to Nyoike for the sig!
