At this stage it's a little hard to say. The new runes allow for a lot more versitility and creativity in playing. No matter what, I'm sure Rakan will continue to be dominant.
The up side is, at least for me, the Chinese server is a week or so behind the North American and European servers. So I have a week to read what all of you are saying about the reworks and come into them ahead of my competition.
Have you read anything interesting about the coming season in terms of gameplay reworks? I haven't seen too much yet.
I found your guide today because I really need to improve my Rakan plays. Turns out I'm way too reckless with him - like his ego contaminates mine and we're both "super awesome". xD Any suggestions?
Maybe you could also add some pictures. Like skins or videos to make the text boxes appear less bulky and full of important information. It's just nicer for the eye and brain when you got a picture you can focus on for some seconds instead of a massive looking text. :)
But good work so far.
It just helps to have a clear idea of what your ideal engage looks like and waiting for that. Part of that is knowing your enemy. If you find yourself up against a fed Master Yi or Camile, you're waiting for them to engage and don't use your super otherwise, even if it means missing out on kills.
Also, try to work on you view of yourself on the team, there are games where Rakan will be THE engager, but much of the time, waiting for the enemy to all in then using your R and W will be far more devastating. That also allows you to stay closer to your carries and shield and heal them.
Just tonight I was playing a game (many games) we had a bad play and were falling back through our jungle. We already lost 2 and were playing 3v5. Our carry was a Vel Koz who had just respawned and was coming down from the base. Vel Koz had just gotten to us when they caught up to my top laner. I jumped (E) to him used R, rounded up 4 of them and used W just in time for Vel Koz to drop a full burst and then super, we ended up killing all 5 5v3.
Catching people with your kit isn't nearly as important as how and when you catch them. Be patient. Look at your team. Look at theirs and think about what is the best way my kit could protect my team, or set them up to devastate the enemy. It takes a lot of practice and chemistry.
Try this, go into a game and only use your super to counter engage. Just for one game. Everyone knows what a strong engager Rakan is, but the best plays are often when you use your R defensively as opposed to offensively.
Hope that helps.
I'll try to add some videos and stuff, I don't have a whole lot, but I have 2 good ones. Writing this made me wish I had saved the vid of the play tonight.
Wow thanks for taking all that time to share to so many tips. Thanks a lot! I'll definitely try it out! :3
Haha I'm sure you can easily get new awesome videos. Also, sometimes less is more and enough can be said or shown with little. :)
Anyway thank you again for sharing your thoughts and taking your time to explaining a lot. <3 (hope that heart doesn't make your gf jealous, if so i'll delete it. <: )
