League of Legends Support
What is a Support?
Supports make plays by enabling their allies through buffs and heals, or by disrupting enemy lines through crowd control. From laning to late game teamfights, supports create advantages and opportunities for their teammates to capitalize on. A skilled support gives their team the edge it needs to claim victory, and can turn the tide of battle with just one well-timed play.
Supports will generally go bottom lane with an AD Carry and sit in the brush , aiding their laning partner when necessary, else-wise harassing the enemy lane.
A Support will commonly start with low-cost items, such as Faerie Charm, Boots of Speed or a Regrowth Pendant in order to supplement supporting the lane with consumables such as: sight wards and potions ( ).
Later in the game, supports will often buy Oracle's Elixir to scout for and remove enemy wards. Supports also tend to buy items that support the gameplay of the entire team, such as: Aegis of the Legion and Shurelya's Reverie.
It is common for a support to run Heal, Clairvoyance or Exhaust as their summoner spells, with Flash as an escape mechanism. It is less likely in high elo games (or in games where you and your teammates have a higher ratio of wins to loses) to see Clarity and Ignite on supports (especially at the same time).
