Hi! I currently following your guide to play Jax and I'm improving little by little
And i have a question to ask, Did you try the Experimetal Hexplate on Jax for the S14?

hii!!! The new season has greatly changed the builds of many characters, including Jax. and I noticed that taam kench has become very hard for Jax, since without divin sunderer Jax lacks sustain and damage against it.what do you recommend buying, and basically what to do against this catfish?

PH45 (39) | January 12, 2024 2:00am
Hello!

I haven't faced Tahm Kench yet personally, so I can't say yet anything really other than I'd still probably go Trinity Force into Titanic Hydra since early on you can still kill him and afterwards just waveclear with Hydra.

I'm not sure about any of the shred items yet for Jax. In some rare cases maybe Terminus is viable but I won't make any statements yet on that since I haven't tested much. Also in terms of sustain Sundered Sky is a viable option.

Could jax use any of the new items like rageblade and go hybrid jax since now he has better AP ratios?
2
PH45 (39) | May 19, 2023 12:23am
Really don't see Guinsoo's Rageblade working for Jax since he has no HP while rushing it and you are also giving up Sheen on first item. If you go Essence Reaver second, still have no HP to tank anything. At its best, it's probably a 4fun build you can do, but personally I don't see it.

Your guide is just loverly, my only thought is that maybe you want to build a color theme? pick a color, or a couple close colors, and consider even recoloring your item links. The idea being that your guide ends up with a more cohesive visual theme.

Glad you enjoyed the guide! My guide definitely needs a bit of visual tuning but I've been really lazy with putting together new ideas towards it. It will happen eventually though šŸ‘

Hi! I have one more question. . what jax build do you prefer this patch/season? it's just strange to see bork in the recommended items, knowing your preference, wits end.

PH45 (39) | February 11, 2023 3:43am
I still stick to the regular Divine Sunderer -> Wit's End/ Blade of the Ruined King -> situational basically just depending on what enemy team has. Zhonya's Hourglass is pretty nice item even sometimes 2nd if you need to be the one engaging for your team since it will buy you time while your team follows your engage.

While it's true I preferred Wit's End for a long time, my choice basically depends on what I'm laning vs and if they have multiple AP champions. If they have like 2-3 AP champions or more then I probably opt for Wit's End, unless they are really behind and the game seems like a stomp then I might just go Blade of the Ruined King anyways. Blade of the Ruined King is fine if they have less AP damage since you can itemize things like Anathema's Chains vs singular AP champ or a fed AP champ.

Hi! its me again for a simple question: its a bad option buy corropted potion at the start? not even the game recomend it anymore... why?
1
PH45 (39) | February 3, 2023 8:12am
Corrupting Potion got nerfed and you don't run Time Warp Tonic because of the nerf on it as well, so its overall just worse these days. Doran's Blade or Doran's Shield is just far superior option these days since it gives good stats for laning and generally allows you to sustain and fight through your way for the first reset to buy Refillable Potion if you need the extra sustain. Only difference is you have to be a bit more conservative with mana but that's why you take Biscuit Delivery to help you with mana issues.

Hy! I really like your guide. what do you think about the conqueror? is he a good choice for jax? Or is lethal Tempo better? do need an hourglass for jax?
1
PH45 (39) | February 3, 2023 8:09am
While Conqueror is viable choice, I think Lethal Tempo is still just superior since it makes you a lot stronger in early lane phase and if you can't make use of Lethal Tempo then you opt for Grasp of the Undying in matchups like Akali and Kennen etc where you don't get extended trades.

Zhonya's Hourglass is a situational item for Jax. If you are doing the engaging for your team and your team doesn't really have proper follow up, or if you just need to buy time in general in fights then Zhonya's Hourglass is a fine option.

Akxshi | February 11, 2023 3:25am
Thank you!!! This question arose from the fact that I often see a conqueror in some other jax players. so I decided to get your opinion on this rune. thanks a lot again!!

Hello! I like your guide! I wanted to know something... Is still worthy to build AP with Jax currently? Since his AP ratios are pretty nice, I see his damage output is OP XD But I dont know if this kind of build stills being a good idea. Recently, I was playing as Jax and all my team were AD, so... I was thinking of this build can be good in this kind of situations or not, and stick to AD.

PH45 (39) | February 3, 2023 8:06am
Hello!

The regular Jax build is still superior to going AP build. The changes to Jax basically just allow him to have a broader itemization and include some AP items in his regular build situationally like Cosmic Drive and Zhonya's Hourglass. The laning and scaling to late game with AP build is just way harder than with the normal build, and you are relying on oneshotting a lot with the AP build.

ItsEnderSoul | February 4, 2023 9:44pm
Thank you! :D You are right. It is hard to survive being AP.

Hi! I love your guide and check back every patch to see your thoughts on new items, runes, and matchup changes. Few questions, any thoughts or tips for the K'sante matchup? I haven't played against him very often as Jax and I feel like I either stomp or get stomped and am unsure how to play it optimally. Also what are your thoughts on taking grasp/conqueror? I see a lot of pros and other high elo Jax players taking grasp. Do you ever take it? When and why do you, or why don't you take it? I don't see many people taking conqueror any more but does it still have it's place? Thanks!

PH45 (39) | January 16, 2023 2:32pm
Hello!

Glad you enjoy the guide! I think K'Sante is pretty rough to lane vs since he is, well a new champ and he has a lot of mobility to get out of your E or even just ignore it with his W CC immunity. You can beat him but you have to dodge his Q to not get chunked in lane but its so low cooldown its pretty hard to manage. Also when he R's you have to respect his damage a lot and you cant really jump on him near his tower since he will just insec you into his tower range then.

I still have played Lethal Tempo mostly since its just felt really good so far but Conqueror scales better since later into the game attack speed isn't going to be as valuable due to how quickly fights end and people get bursted. Conqueror is probably good in some matchups but Lethal Tempo will help you be stronger in lane which helps you get ahead and win games but I'll have to try Conqueror more this patch. I only really run Grasp of the Undying into champions like Akali, Kennen and maybe Jayce since you can't get extended trades into them making Lethal Tempo and Conqueror less valuable, but you are giving up scaling by taking Grasp of the Undying so I would limit it to these matchups only really.

I like this guide very much, it has a lot of usefull information and very important things to know, I want to ask to you: Is de new R better than old R, because itĀ“s ok and well you hit the R passive only with 2 AA but the old R was good to, and now with some skins jax look some weird than before because the new R, also de Legendary Skin before had a super shield that looks amazing and has a lot of textures, and now they replace that with an poor aura. Before I play Jax a lot but with this I donĀ“t very sure, also I was going to buy Mecha Kingdoms Jax but with this things I told you I change the idea. Regards!!

Hello!

Glad you liked the guide!

The new R in terms of gameplay is better since its an more involving ult in a way that you have to think more of how and when you want to use it instead of just using it before a fight to get extra resistances. Sadly the VFX are pretty bad and the animations for the 3rd auto from R are really bad too for 1350+ skins but apparently they are working on improving them so hopefully they get fixed asap. I've personally just stuck to older skins for now like Nemesis and PAX on my main.

hello, why dont you recomend ravenous hydra? so many champions use it now
2
PH45 (39) | December 12, 2022 2:37pm
Hello!

Ravenous Hydra isn't really what Jax wants in his regular builds since the item is purely damage oriented, and you already have Blade of the Ruined King filling that spot. That item will fit into the Jak'Sho, The Protean build, where you first go Essence Reaver -> Jak'Sho, The Protean, into Ravenous Hydra, but that build requires you to snowball and be ahead since your first item really isn't all that great.

how is jax vs warwick toplane? would his healing be too much to fight early or what?
2
PH45 (39) | December 12, 2022 2:35pm
Warwick is not really that problematic with his healing if you play it properly. He can be annoying if he sustains off minions when he is low but generally you should win this matchup. In lane phase just block his Q with your E and keep in mind to save your E potentially for his R post 6 since it will block it as well. Shouldn't waste gold on antiheal as Jax, but rather just run Ignite for antiheal.

Hey man, your guide is fantastic and I've started becoming a one trick with Jax. However I see something you didn't mention in your guide. I see a lot of high elo korean players that buy a dorans blade on first back. Do you think this would be beneficial? And also, being a Jax one trick has made me realise that Jax is amazing in a lot of situations, however he freaking sucks against certain matchups, literally I feel completely powerless against such as a rumble or pantheon. All I can do is sit under tower and hope for a gank. Any tips?
1
PH45 (39) | June 26, 2019 9:19am
Hello, glad that you liked the guide!

I used to buy Doran's Blade early quite often, but nowadays I've moved to buying item components rather than more starting items since I prefer to get my powerspikes faster. Doran's Blade is still a great early pickup for lane phase, but I just personally like to skip on them since I get my items faster and don't have to waste gold by selling them later on.

Jax does have a lot of hard matchups, and in some matchups you just have to wait for your items and scaling to kick in. Often times against champions like Rumble and Pantheon you can buy a early magic resist/armor item and then just farm what you can and scale. You'll win them both later on, patience is key. Ganks do help a lot in those matchups since both are quite immobile champions, but often times junglers ignore top lane since bot and mid lane are arguably more powerful and near the Dragon , which is an important objective quite often.
If you feel that you get poked down under tower a lot, you can pick up an early Tiamat to shove the wave in and after that you can go clear jungle camps, take the scuttle crab, go ward or even roam to mid etc.
