I appreciate the guide! I spend a lot of time as support when I don't get my main role. Question for you, why do you think Taric has fallen out of the meta as of late?

To be completely honest with you, I don't think Taric has ever been a meta pick, but I don't think that he is weaker now than he has been in the past. Taric is almost never touched by Riot as he always is in an ok state where he is playable and never overpowered or underpowered. The reason why Taric is not a meta pick is his lack of mobility and pick potential. Another reason why Taric is not a meta pick (and probably never will be) is because his stun is too easy to dodge with a dash or flash, which higher elo players will see coming miles away. Although his ultimate is a really big teamfighting tool, it does not outweigh his weaknesses in terms of lane pressure and pick potential. On the other hand I think it is awesome that Taric has seen pro play in the "Taric + Sona" comp which is only picked because of his safe laning and ultimate in teamfights. Normally I would think of Taric as one of the supports that can either be very weak or relatively strong, depending on the player who plays him. Taric has never been a meta pick but he has always managed to be a relevant support regardless of the meta. You can always play Taric as his ultimate has such a big influence on teamfights. If you are picking up Taric he might seem quite useless in lane at first, as he is super defensive and mostly wants to punish people for overextending, but as you "master" him you'll learn his strenghts and weaknesses. As of now I would say that there are better supports in the game, but Taric is the one I love <3

I personally think that Taric is rather fun to play, but that doesn't mean everyone enjoys playing him. Taric is a very safe support with the potential to keep the carries alive for a very long time. His auto resets makes it possible for him to spam his heal, which can heal multiple teammates. I also think that Taric is a great support because his ult works perfectly with big bruisers/tanks and on strong carries, and it is his ultimate that makes him so special. I think he is one of the best supports for teamfights in the game :)

i'm silver at the moment and i would like to change my main support used that runes. i'm main Taric with 300k and more, but i have little question: "you suggest to buy redemption as first item but usually take knight's vow to take the damage instead of my adc. then on which occasion i will take that item if u don't suggest both in the first and in the second build ? " i ask apologize for my bad english

Hi there applematte.
This build is a build that I have created and adapted to fit my playstyle (a very defenesive playstyle), which I have tried to explain in the guide aswell. I usually build first as it has a "unique passive" that gives you +10% healing and shielding power, which I think is very powerful and crucial on Taric, not to forget it's active ability which, if timed and aimed correctly, can save your teammates or even turn teamfights completely around. I'm not saying that is a bad option, but I still think that you should consider buying it as your 3rd or 4th item instead of your first item after the support item.

Hey Taric Support,
your guide counts to the best ones I've ever read before. Every chapter is like a pleasure reading it because you can explain well how to use abilities, what items to buy when and which runes make sense the most.
Maybe you could add some synergy chapters and point out if there's some ADCs Taric tends to have easier match ups - like I could imagine Lucian as going well with him because of the dash.
But that's just a suggestion. Anyway. Well done! :)

Thanks for the great idea! I've just finished the table of contents with the anchors and so on, so I was actually looking for something new to work on. I think a Synergy/Match-up chapter would fit in great. I've already written a bunch of stuff about match-ups in the "Match-up bar" that comes before the guide even begins, and i actually think a lot of people overlooks that part. So putting it into the guide instead of the cheat sheet would make it more noticeable and goodlooking. And again, thanks for your amazingly kind feedback!

I wouldn't completely delete your comments on specific champions. But maybe just shorten them or sum them up a bit because cheat sheets are always great when you're quickly looking for good counters or if picking Taric would rather struggle a certain match up.
Anyway I'm looking forward for your new chapter(s). :3

I see that you originally used biscuit delivery instead of the dematerializer? Why the change? Is it more of a preferential choice? Or is there a high level strategy to taking the dematerilizer over the biscuits and with them the better sustian in lane. Taric has long been one of my favorite supports to play and i consider him rather underplayed

I've been watching a lot of pro play lately where they play dematerializer on almost every support except Rakan. I think dematerializer is the best option right now, as you ensure that you split as much gold between you and your carry as possible with the relic shield. It can also help you push lane, as canon minions are quite heavy in the early game. And yes, Taric is indeed very underplayed!

Its just one of those things i've never used (like a lot of things in the inspiration tree) and just wouldnt know how to use without a delve into the play style situated around that. It very well could be more useful, definitely at higher levels of play. I think for now, while at my rather low level that the biscuits are more immediately useful
