I decided to play mainly against assassins (especially against rengar, kha'zix and kayn) and noticed that they are ruined by the Rylay, mostly rengar, which become difficult to reach in the bushes. Kayn doesn't like being held up either, so he's easy to kite. Kha'zix generally becomes just a cockroach, which is easy to kill. But Lillia reduces losses, but I don’t think it’s critical. Maybe relay isn't that bad for defense. ;)

Thanks for the guide, but I'm tormented by the question: what to do with maw of malmortius? The shield from the item gives is incredibly nasty, but how do you counter it?

Hello! Lillia isn't countered as easily by MR compared to other champions because of her Q and passive, but it still can be a hassle.
If at champion select you could already see that the enemy comp would be tanky, picking the Conqueror + Riftmaker will make sure you're ready for any possible resistances.
But if you were caught off-guard by a squishier comp with Maw of Malmortius users, you can rush Shadowflame second item and it should be enough paired with your passive/Liandry's burn. If they're building even more MR, purchase Void Staff.

I’ve been recently playing Lillia cause of how fun she is and I LOVE this guide. I was actually surprised how easy this was to understand cause the others I’ve seen are kinda complicated hehe. I’ll definitely be playing around with all these different builds. I love the layout and the descriptions of the use of situational and essential items.

I was wondering...If I am going for the tanky build because my team doesn't have a frontline,but the enemy is full AD,do I still go Merc Threads or can I switch out to Steelcaps,or is it better to just go the defensive AD build instead of the tank build? Thanks in advance!

Hi there! Thank you for the question. So, about the boots choice, analize if the enemy team has any dangerous CC that you can't avoid with your movement speed, if not, Steelcaps are the better choice. And about builds, go tank if your own team already has an AP carry and you feel that being bulkier in fights will make you more effective instead of adding even more magic damage to your comp. Experiment with items and switch up every game!

amazing guide! i'm a relatively knowledgeable lillia player, and i was surprised at how much i learned from this. the phase rush full mobility runes never even crossed my path until reading your in depth understanding of abusing her passive. thanks for sharing your experience and opinions, and i hope you the best on future adventures in league and other places :)

Hi there! I am a big fan of Lillia and a big fan of your guide. The thing is, I'm a support player and a goal of mine has been to try to make Lillia work the best I can in that role. I certainly understand that there will be better picks, but I really enjoy her and want to make it work the best I can.

So I saw your build with Moonstone - Staff of flowing water and have been using it to great success, but was wondering if there were other items you would consider taking instead or in addition to this set up?
My other question would be, how would you handle the runes? Things like Arcane Comet and Guardian come to mind for lane but I'm curious if you have given the matter any thought or if you have any recommendations.

Hi!!! Thank you for the comment! I admire your determination for playing Lillia in your way, it's inspiring, really.
About your first question, Redemption or Mikael's depending on the situation will make her bulkier while also granting a great amount of utility to her team. Locket also seems like a reasonable substitute for Moonstone if you want to give it a try, but be aware that mana problems might arise.
As for runes, i agree with Arcane Comet and Guardian being her best options. Comet with it's damage/mana sustain and Guardian with it's peel potential, specially with Revitalize to amp up both her passive and ally Moonstone heal.

Thank you for the very wholesome guide, I've been picking up Lillia... got m5 with her and I'm seeking to master her. I'm ADC main, used to be Kindred one-trick and after a long time I'm back in the jungle and seeking new champions to learn. I have enjoyed Lillia since her release but never took the time to actually master her until now. Your guide was helpful on a few things I had been wondering, especially build-wise.
But there are a few things I'd like to ask if that's ok

How do you feel about crown of the shattered queen? at first I thought it might be a good item because in theory it helps you against bursty teams and it gives you MS and Hp,but when trying it I did find my damage a bit lackluster. It felt nice in some games but it looked like it took longer for me to scale

You mentioned you'd try predator and I'm curious about how you feel. I actually liked it, haven't played a lot after the nerfs but still felt solid to help gank and rotate faster. Does't feel great when I know I can't gank tho lol

Also I never thought about zhonyas combo with ult so that was really good to know ^-^ I'll start building it as a second item, maybe that will save me from a few deaths

Hey! Thanks for commenting, i appreciate it! And of course it's ok to have questions.

About Crown, it's a good defensive item, but i wouldn't say it's worth using it on Lillia. Long ranged comps can take the shield out of you really easily, and even though you can make more use out of it against melee bursty comps, you'll miss on a lot of damage now after it's nerfs.

Similar to it, Predator was OP in general rather than being strong on Lillia specifically, so Dark Harvest is still the way to go when using Domination.

And yes, Zhonya's is amazing on her! Definitely a worthy 2nd item if you need the defensive help or to be a playmaker.

Thank you for the insight! I managed to play some games of Lillia following your guide and I did feel stuff going more smoothly. Zhonyas felt great! Wanted to try riftmaker but didn't get the chance yet
