i agree with most of this except the mythic - i believe rod of ages is the better choice because it provides more survivability and raw stats to boost all his other items

plus with how cheap it is and its free level up mid game, you can easily get ur first item spike in 10-12 min and youre more free to gank cuz you can worry less about falling behind in exp

That is interesting thank you for the feedback, I simply forgot to include RoA as an option when updating all my guides. As for whether or not I would go Rod of Ages, depends. Manamune is my rush item so going RoA will take a while to stack. It definitely works, but you run into the need of stacking RoA.

Stacking RoA isn't really an issue especially if you rush it first - the advantages of rushing RoA over manamune include:
- Passive stacking (no need to use skills or be in combat)
- higher gold efficiency
- stronger late game scaling
- Stronger stats while stacking/when fully stacked

Manamune is a good rush, but your performance becomes heavily dependent on how well you can snowball. Since manamune only provides offensive stats and requires you to be in combat to stack, a couple of poor early fights and you can be stuck with a still incomplete tear item at around 20-25 minutes.

RoA on the other hand provides you the option to play safe and scale while farming. With the extra health and AP instead of AD, you can last longer in fights and still have good damage with 100% ap scaling on Q and 10% on passive. If you're playing well, you can have it fully stacked by 19-21 minutes, and not so well by 24-26 minutes. This plus the benefits you gain per minute is equal to a little under half a long sword.

comparing their damage as soon as you buy it:
Manamune: ~48 AD (35 + 13ish from passive and mana); 15 haste; 500 mana
this gives us ~58 damage on our Q + 48 on autos + ~6 on passive
RoA: 60 AP; 300 health; 400 mana
this gives us 60 damage on our Q + 6 on passive

in extended fights manamune beats RoA - which isn't ideal if you're running lethal tempo - but for burst with PTA the damage this is comparably strong. While this is the case, where RoA really shines is after 3rd item.

After finishing RoA, buy a tear, and rush titanic hydra second item. Upon finishing titanic, you get +46 AD (30 from the item +16 from passive due to RoA and TH health) which is basically what you would've had with just manamune but with 2x the health! and thats before calculating the extra stats you get from the stacks. At ab 5 stacks (which is usually when I finish titanic) you'd have +20 AP +100 hp and +100 mana which adds more damage on your Q and further scales TH and eventually manamune.

By the time your tear finishes stacking, around 22-24 minutes, you should be able to finish building manamune. Now at this point instead of only getting 48 AD as soon as you finish item you get a whopping 63 because both RoA is fully stacked and Muramana is fully stacked.

Insane scaling all with the safety of extra beefy health which pairs wonders with his damage reduction - whats not to love.
