I'm leaning towards what caucheka said. I think when they said to expect the unexpected...who really expected Urf to return?
As for the whole roundhouse kick argument, has anyone ever seen the Walker, Texas Ranger episode where Chuck Norris is blinded by an explosion or something. Kinda reminds me of that...

To meet on level with you guys for just 1 post (And only one post), I believe the real April fools joke is the fact that Riot wanted people to believe Lee Sin would be an April Fools joke, where as Urf would be the real champion that is released. Why I say this? Lets consider the followed;
1. They release a snapshot of Lee Sin with a silhouette of urf around him. People instantly assume it's an april fools joke.
2. The art spotlight has Urf painted into it. However, what caught most peoples eyes in that video was the fact that the image that the artist, Katie DeSousa, was working behind the Lee Sin picture was entitled "Urf Official release" (http://www.leagueoflegends.com/news/league-legends-art-spotlight-lee-sin-blind-monk Skip to :36). People instantly assume "Wow, Lee Sin is the April fools joke but the stupid artist forgot to close Urfs pic HURR HURR WE GONNA GET URF.
3. Urf is in every screen shot on the Lee Sin introduction page. Again "Lee sin april fools, SO OBVIOUS!" comments, however, people are now believing that Urf is going to be the real champion that is going to be released.
So what does this all mean? Everyone now believes Lee Sin is an April fools joke due to Urf getting slapped into everything that has been advertised with this champion. They purposely left that picture about urfs release (via champion art spotlight) to cause some belief that urf will be a released champion and cause the weak minded to believe that Urf will be the new champ. (even though he was already eaten by warwick).
Anyways, those are just my thoughts on it all. Tbh, I hope that Lee Sin isn't released at all period so I can enjoy the "WE HATE YOU RIOT >:C" threads on mobafire/LoL forums.
tl;dr- Riot is using reverse-reverse-psychology.

I still think he is a troll champ, like i don't think he is real. Did you look at the screen shots and his OP Spells? Ultimate should be called Chuck Norris

The april fools joke: Urf died to warwick
the truth: Urf never died, infact warwick did. Inb4 Urf gets a warwick skin.
