I also found this interesting, although the last post was an utter lie.

"Best Troll on MOBAFire", in General section. Why would we nominate a best troll? Not to mention it could actually offend a user if that user was mentioned. Is that fun? No. Hence it was locked.
"US Low ELO" turned into a "Let's post random stuff that has nothing to do about said topic". Posts like;
"YES! I successfully trolled the troll!!!
EVERYONE +REP ME!!! >=D"
does not contribute in any way, and is not in any way, or at all, on-topic.
"Why do noobs make guides" is just a thread made by a guy who's trolling. It's basically just bashing creators of guides, and for what reason? Because he disagrees with them. If it was in a civilized manner, and objective (not directed towards anyone), like; "Why X item is better than Y item", it wouldn't have been locked. This wasn't the case.
"Veigar Penta :O" - We have THIS.
"US Vs. EU Trash Talk Competition" is something that just stirs up possible flame-wars. We all know a community this big won't have users that only take is as a joke.
And how it is a lie? I answered it, then it turned into a "Bash Scrax for editing posts he didn't edit".

If anyone has a problem with mods locking threads inappropriately, just report it. We're human too, we make mistakes, and it's important that you notify us of whatever you think we're doing wrong.
That being said, I personally agree with all the locks made thus far on the forums and that threads are either getting too derailed, too trolly, or just too pointless to stay.

If people derail a thread, that is their business and who are you to stop them? Unless the OP spesifically redirects them it shouldn't be a problem. If you find the thread pointless, don't post! People can decide for themselves what they find interesting and what they want to spend their time posting about. Essentially this is about freedom of speech, regardless of what is posted. If people started a "Bashing Alahric" campaign that is their choice, whether or not it is constructive, reasonable or the least bit entertaining is irrelevant.
FYI: This is not a QQ thread, this is not a request to unlock those threads.
I just want to express my opinion and discuss the matter. What's with you people?

Matt has told us to crack down on derailing threads.
What's fine is off-topic discussion that's constructive. If a thread about a Shaco item build turns into a thread on counter-jungling after the main point has been answered, that's completely fine. But if it turns into an image-fest where people are posting pictures of cakes, then the mods need to take action. And frankly, the latter is what we've been seeing more than the former.

Of course when you take it out of context it sounds bad.
Australians, the best gamers in the world combined with the worst ping.
I agree with the mod's points. If the point of the post has been answered and OP has been satiated, might as well lock the thread because there's no further discussion to be had. If you want to derail **** how bout we just make a sticky thread over at off-topic: "If you had the urge to derail a thread post here"
It'll be full of random *** **** and people get their jollies from derailing the derail thread.

Your first two examples were irrelevant, while this one I have to wonder if you had any regards to what was posted while you wrote your message. I listed spesific examples to avoid this assertion. However, the issue still remains; Did the user not write it? Do note that personal property is defined by how much work individuals has dedicated to the it. I believe that to be our rights as users.
On a last notice I actually find it very relevant to quote Locke on this matter, you need to understand that interupting people out of what you consider to be a discourse is just being rude on so many levels.
