If I am good with Master Yi, is there a decent chance that I would be even better with Shaco? It is very rare I run into a Shaco that I cannot kill with ease, but I have a friend who plays him and he completely annihilates me. I only ask because I've seen people say things like "If you're good with X then you'll be even better with X" many times around LoL forums.

Thanks for the insight.

If Yi is a right click champ then how are you bad with him? Every one of Yi's skills comes into action during a match and there is a fair amount of outplaying your enemy with every champion available. I am looking for some relation between the two champions specifically, and I'm simply wondering if being good with Yi may influence my playing style with Shaco if I were to make the transition... someone who has gotten good with Yi and then tried Shaco with either positive or negative results would be an excellent candidate for a response to my question. Thanks!

I hate that mindset. I've done well on champions that others have written off as garbage and I have done terrible on champions that are listed as the best of the best. Saying you will do better with one champion over another you are already great at is mind boggling. With that said, I still feel that being good at one champion DOES make you feel more comfortable playing certain other champions with similar playstyles. Shaco and Yi have different playstyles so I would say no... Being good as Yi has no impact on being good on Shaco.

Every champion requires some degree of practice to get good with. Shaco and Yi have some very different abilities, so I would say maybe. They do use similar items sometimes. Give him a try if you get the chance.

Thanks for the infos :) See, it's not that I have this mindset.. I am very comfortable with Yi and mostly I am looking for a secondary champion to get good at.. not necessarily a champion to be better with. Was merely hoping that any playing skills I have with Yi might carry over if I were to take on Shaco as he sparks some interest so he is at the top of my list. I assumed their playing style might be a bit similar, for I use Yi to gank, harass lanes and rip the opposing team to shreds late game (unless I'm against a good Olaf or Warwick). To my knowledge, Shaco is mostly used for a couple of these same reasons, he is squishy just like Yi and provides means for tactical ganks. I guess I will just have to give him a try and find out for myself, though I'm hesitant to spend the IP on a champion I won't find comfortable. Just trying to narrow them down so I can more assuredly purchase a champion.

Jax is fairly similar to Yi, although he usually uses more of a hybrid build. I believe he's free right now, so if you haven't tried him, he'd be a good choice.

yeah thats kinda funny. i can only think of 5 guys that i play and they all have different builds.

my main is pantheon(damage), my second amumu (tank of course), then singed (tank, but different build) and then gragas (another different tank) and finally kassadin (ap caster, sometimes hybrid)

i'd probably remove kass from my sig and replace with amumu as im better with him, but i thought kass looked cooler and that it wouldn't look so tanky...

I would say Yi has similar play styles to Xin, Jax, Olaf, and Warwick.
