Make ONE standard build for your guide. Having 4 is a bit confusing.
Your second one is by far the best. Get rid of the AA staff and throw in a
Spirit Visage though, you're not supposed to spam that much. It's better to just boost your burst heal and as a bonus you can use your mana spell more often.
Supporters should ALWAYS grab
Clairvoyance (and the mastery ofc).
Masteries are nice, but you should as a rule never get
Expanded Mind
(+mana). It works off BASE mana only. That's like 60mana at lvl18. Very bad mastery. If you need something to spend points on you should spend it on
Utility Mastery
(+buff duration)
You clearly don't know much about runes. I recommend reading my guide on the subject (not advertising it, since I don't really need to).

The guide is sort of a showcase of my playstyle, which is VERY different from most people's. The first one was the original build, so I'm gonna keep that one to stick with the original concept of the guide. I always get my archangel's staffs fully stacked (thanks to starcall). The mana spell is good offensively, so I use it to harass when I can.
The visage will only boost the heals I use on myself, which isn't what I need: in the situation they manage to deal enough damage to kill me that 15% won't matter enough, because I probably got ignited.
I'm not really a fan of clairvoyance and my friends don't expect me to take it so it's not in the guide. If I know I'll be laning with a person who uses a lot of mana, I do take clarity instead of teleport.
I've changes my runes can you take a look and tell me what you think?

CV (Clairvoyance) should mostly be used to keep track of the enemy jungler during the laning phase. Scouting baron, dragon and other important things is also VERY good. Such an awesome spell. No supporter should ever play without it.
AA staff is not needed on Soraka. Just go for CDR, AP and durability.
ROA should help enough with that.
Spirit Visage is core on Soraka because it gives only useful things.
0/9/21 are by far the best masteries on Soraka. Use them.
Runes should be:
MrP, armor or MR marks
MP5, MP5/lvl or HP/lvl seals
CDR or MR/lvl glyphs.
HP or AP quints.

I didn't want to post a guide like every other Soraka guide on Mobafire, I play her oddly, I know. The only reason I get an AA is to boost my mana pool and MP/5, but I'll try going go for a chalice of harmony instead and see how that goes.
I had changed my runes, but they didn't save correctly... -_-
There are a lot of people who don't like Spirit Visage on Soraka, someone went so far as to downvote my guide because I included it as a situational item. I do like it on her, but I don't get it unless I need the bonus healing.

Mana problems on Soraka are usually because you're spamming way too much. Soraka is a defensive champion. She should only use spells when she needs to. An early catalyst (to build into ROA) on Soraka is just enough by far.
Spirit Visage is an awesome item on Soraka. It helps against her biggest weakness; diving. People who say it's bad are just bad players.

I don't spam unless I'm midding (don't even start on this lol), I last hit with my basic attack.
Bad players or no that's still a downvote that drops my guide's score DX...
I just wanted a general opinion about the guide: is it well written? does it have a good balance of chapter topics? Did I fix the runes?
I didn't(and I don't mean this in a rude way at all) ask you to tell me how to play Soraka, I might as well archive it if I really change it because it will be very similar to every Soraka guide on Moba (and we don't need another support guide that is the same as everyone else's). I've played her several different ways and this is the way I like the best. I am very much a promoter of people doing what they like best because the player is usually what makes or breaks the game, not the items they've built.

I'm just pointing out that you should focus on doing the one thing that a champion does best.
Soraka is good for poking teams, sustained pushes and staying in a lane forever.

I do just that with Soraka, I just use a strange build to accomplish similar results. I do take my poking a little farther than most (getting some farm, harassing with infuse unless I actually need the mana, but I have much better healing than any straight support Soraka could (because I stack AP, which is the main point of the build). Boosting the heals up without an assist-stacked mejai's (you might as well put an arrow over your head saying "Focus Me!!!") can still give decent survivability and utility.
Hah no, Soraka can't poke XD
I meant that she's good for when you have teammates that can poke.
Your main problem is that you play too aggressively with Soraka. Practice on playing defensively and just letting your partner farm (and ofc taking the lasthits he/she can't).

I worked on my Soraka guide (click image in sig to view guide) for a while only to get downvotes with the required comments deleted...only two people left their comments after downvoting...DX
So I need some help:
What's so wrong with it that people won't even leave their comments on it?
I don't care if you comment here or there.
Edit: I know I hit C instead of N *facepalm*
