Yeah, 1410 gold for the active of Deathfire Grasp could be viable I suppose if you use it often. I don'y find 750 gold for Randuin's Omen's active to be worth it though since that active isn't too good. Also, I never thought Archangel's Staff was so inefficient. That's a lot of mana to break even.

Yea, that's insane. Makes me wonder about the fate of the Manamune (or something like that).
The Madred's Bloodrazer can't be THAT bad can it?
Wondering how effiecent Zhonya's is after 250AP though...

Madred's isn't that bad, it depend if you're willing to spend 1200 gold to do 4% of the targets health each attack.
The Zhonya's is extremely efficient if you already have 250 AP. It's breakeven is at 92 AP.
Also, notice how efficient Manamune is. It breaks even at 650 mana, which most champions have by default. The downside is it breaks even with damage at 1600 mana. That's basically full stacks.

A few notes:
-Efficient items have a positive value, inefficient items have a negative value. If the efficiency rating of an item is negative 650 that means you spent 650 gold more to get those stats than if you had of instead bought base items.
-The stats that were used to calculate item efficiency are AP, MP, AD, Lifesteal, HP, Armor, MR, Crit, and IAS. I was unable to calculate gold per stat costs of cooldown reduction, armor pen, magic pen, auras, or special uniques.
-I did not calculate or factor health regen or mana regen into the efficiency of an item. These stats are generally regarded as non-factors in battles and skew items into looking better than they are. If the regen stats are important to you than remember that they are not calculated here.
-When viewing the big ticket items think of the "inefficiency" more like the cost to get the unique stuff. Paying 266 gold for the Abyssal Scepter aura or paying 68 gold for the trinity force arsenal of special stats is well worth it in my mind.
-For items with +stat auras the stats for the aura are counted towards the efficiency. The stats given in the spreadsheet are the base stats + the aura stats. For example Aegis of the Legion gives 18 armor base and 12 armor in an aura. The number shown and used to calculate the efficiency is 18+12=30.
A few observations made while making the spreadsheet:
-Guinsoo's Rageblade is rediculous efficient. With 0 stacks it is a slightly efficient item (28 gold). With 8 stacks it is like getting a free 2000 gold.
-Banshee's Veil is efficient even if you don't count the passive... which is one of the best passives in the game.
-Zhonya's Ring has a breakeven point. Once you are over 68 AP from OTHER sources it is efficient. This does not count the active.
-The items made from combining gold per 5 items are fairly inefficient. You can overcome the drastic inefficiency by holding on to the gold per 5 item longer.
-The Archangel's Staff breakeven point for AP alone is 3520 max mana. This is when the 2.5% mana to AP makes the item efficient.
-Warmog's is terribly inefficient for increasing your HP. Even fully charged it does not break even on HP alone. Note: if you care about hp regen than this item has value... fully charged...
-Aegis of the Legion is efficient even if no one else got the aura. The stats you give your buddies is free gold!

Some amazing thoerycrafting performed by Dret and Lobsterzilla. Really helps you see if items are truly worth purchasing.
