So, I buy Tear. I use 100 abilities, then come back and upgrade to Archangel's staff. Now for questions.

1. Do I lose the 400 MP I got from Tear?
2. Does the 1000 MP cap start over once I get the staff?

It carries over to AA staff.

So if you got 400 mana from tear, then buy staff, you will be 400/1000.

1) No. If you turn a Tear into Archangels, whatever mana you've gained will move to it. Works the same with Manamune.

2) Nope. If you're 1000/1000 on Tear, you're 1000/1000 with Manamune/Archangels.
