It's always seemed like a pretty selfish item to me...it doesn't boost the heals you use on your allies and that's the most important part of playing a healer.
You're talking about farming with a supporter, you got no say in this >:[
Seriously though; EVERYTHING it gives you is extremely useful. It's THE survivability item for Soraka. You can't support while dead :P

I never said I farmed with a supporter: did you not read that bit where I commented that I was only pointing out that it was possible?
Then maybe build merc's treads or boots of swiftness instead of ionian boots of lucidity since you're building over 40% with your other items (or damn close).
I think better heals to allies > better heals to self, and RoA does this well enough while still giving survivability.
What about:
Boots of Swiftness Shurelya's Battlesong Spirit Visage Rod of Ages Aegis of the Legion Morello's Evil Tome

Ok no really. AA is what you want. I have played 2 games and picked it up. That is the ONLY Item of importance I have in all 2 games and they all surrender.
