A few things:
After playing Yorick, I've found that one of the best items to start with is the sapphire crystal or the meki for the sake of mana/MP5. I prefer the crystal because of sheen, which despite him getting no benefit from the +25 AP, he still keeps a decent boost in doubling his attack and omen of war boosting it more.
I'd say a good start may be Sapphire into either sheen (if they arent per se tanky) or catalyst for banshee (the catalyst boost helps a lot early game, add in the recovery on level and the banshee if they are CC heavy). This is just IMO but his mana pool reminds me of a certain Sion.
Red crystals are also good for an early start on phage at the cost of your mana pool being shobby.
Next is @dufftime, I agree thats likely what he means. He doesn't require much, but he does require somethings.
I'm working on making this character the best, and imo though war gives amazing burst early game, I like the pestilance for the sake of bush checking early game. Omen is great until you eat an exhaust and are getting tossed about. Plus makes farming minions somewhat easier. Lifesteal and Omen are more based on style and opponents.
In example: People like Garen and Sona would warrant the lifesteal because you don't want to get close to garen and you can't get close to sona.
People like say... Morde are more for the omen as it kills off the shield quick.
You also have to remember that with no really potent escape mechanisms, Yorick is insanely squishy. Building Armor and such may help, but imo Guardian Angel works amazing wonders with him. Decent boosts, and not all that expensive. Plus, lots of revival shinanigans.
He feels, to me, like he is more of a swarmer. Dropping pestilance seems like good/decen harassment early game with its AoE and summon, and should likely start your rotations. Landing pestilance will open you up to hit with omen of war, meaning you can chase much easier. If you have frozen mallet and they are alone, you should be able to keep a constant tag on them with some good forethought. Lifesteal seems like final hitting and keeping a view on the opponent for a little bit.
For your summoner spells, this is opinion but I enjoy the use of ignite and ghost more than flash/exhaust. Reason being is 1v1, you can burn people much quicker than they expect if you combo with your ignite. Also helps for killing runners. Ghost helps land easier war, and makes for a hell of a chase down when war is around.
Its just imo but I don't see flash as very effective. The only time you would really use it is to wall-jump, but to be fair if you are in the situation flash likely won't make the save. Meanwhile, landing one omen and popping ghost at max rank will bring you ~500 speed or so (480+ I think). I just feel Ghost is a more consistant skill to use. As for exhaust vs ignite, thats just preference. Exhaust has its uses too and I change the two out sometimes.
I just kinda wrote a guide of my own by accident, sorry. But I feel like this character has potential and its not being fully utilized. Try swapping ring for shield, meki, or crystal. Just imo, don't be offended.
Thanks for the LARGE input lol and i agree shield is what i meant to put. but i like your idea of the early start on sheen making war stronger. GOOD IDEAS your pro xD
"-not excessively item dependent
Con's:
-does need a few "REQUIRED" items"
wat
The key word is Excessively and he does require a few items to get moving in a positive way
Doran's Ring on a champion with no AP?
Why not just a Meki Pendant?
i meant to put shield lol

To me it sound's like he's trying to say:
"Yorick is not excessively item dependent, but he does need a few "REQUIRED" items"
Maybe.
Could be.
"Pro's:
-Powerful tank
-not excessively item dependent"
Hum i think he is totally item dependant... and i dont really see much tank stuff in your gear.. having a banshee vail and a frozen heart does not make you a tank but rather an offtank imo...
"Con's:
-does need a few "REQUIRED" items
-farming dependant
-SLOW"
Not item dependant but faring dependant? i dont get that... Plus he has 315 base move speed, i dont know many champs who have more.
"-AND THAT HOBBLE IN HIS WALK GETS REALLY ANNOYING!"
This i totally agree... he looks like he is gimping.
Plus, i think you buy defensive items really late! most games dont last that long, and you buy your first defensive item when you already have spent more than 6k gold. most games are already over at this time ...
Oh and in the runes... i REALLY dont understand you take HP glyphs and MRes seals... seems pretty stupid to me!
and evry champ is good you just have to know how and when to play that champ
