Story
Yorick emerged on the haunted shores of the Shadow Isles – not quite dead, definitely not alive – still clutching his beloved shovel. He soon learned that with it he could act as a ferryman for the Isles' undead denizens, helping them climb death's many-tiered ladder. This proved a curse, as a gravedigger must "bury his quota" before he too can ascend, or so the legend goes. No one knows what "his quota" is. Yorick dug tirelessly, waiting in vain for the day when he would be freed of his burden. As decades turned to centuries, the shame of his failures came to a head. He returned to Valoran to find his corpse, convinced that salvation might be buried with it. When he arrived, no trace remained of either the mausoleum or the memorial. Hope nearly lost, he discovered the League of Legends, and there saw an opportunity to immortalize the family name he allowed to be forgotten ages ago.
"Die first, then we’ll talk." -- Yorick
This is my first build ever and on a REALLY new character, so be nice with the words please. Yorick's abilities run purely off of his AD. So I messed around for a few hours and came up with this. I start with a Doran's Ring, well because he is a tank.
Sheen is your next priority because of your Q. it helps do lots of burst damage. I play Yorick defensively until i get the BOOTS. he is slow without them even with the boost of his Q, it just isn't enough. Frozen mallet is for the tank part of him and the sweet passive. the 20 bonus attack damage is also good.
Now for situations which involve your own opinion. At this point you can either go for the Black Cleaver, Bloodthirster, Frozen Heart, OR Maldreds Bloodrazor. THIS IS SITUATIONAL! examine your opponents. by level thirty you should be able to judge which to build. trinity force is always a nice addition due to the overall increase in "everything".
Now for the last item... Most likely another AD item or guardians. Or, if you need that little bit of protection from those stuns you can go into a Banshee's Veil.

his passive gives him that bonus AD as long as your ghouls are alive. so it's burst, attack, exhaust, attack more AND POOOF! dead!. 10 seconds later all your abilities are back and another champ wants to go graveside to mess with ya. slow lifesteal bonus move speed and then whack whack dead again! easy ain't it?!
Q: This ability gives him the chance to move faster for a get-away or catch-up. great for the bonus damage and sheen makes this even better. This ability lets you maneuver around the lane and battlefield much better early game, at least until you get your boots.
W: "ah... the decrepit remains of you meddling champion in my graveyard" Thats right folks this ability rots your opponents from the initial summoning place. Its a mean slowing machine too. i live this ability as much as everyone hates cho's rupture.
E: LIFESTEAL! LIFESTEAL! LIFESTEAL! this is your lane remain. it lets you sit there in lane while your opponents may need to B because of their lack of early game regen. great in lategame for the bonus umph it gives when bursting.
R: ah R! the REVIVAL and beatdown! this spell gives you a copy or "revenant" of an ally champ. if the champ dies while the revenant is still alive they get a second chance do to sacrificial acceptance of the revenant. The revenant also gets 50% AD of the character you cast it on. SO choose AD carries!!! DUH!

The runes are based on a purely tanky build. If your play-style differs change 'em. These things your reading are called GUIDES for a reason. Armor and health are my focuses. you can always change your seals to magic res. if that makes you more comfortable. The health bonuses early game are drastic and greatly increase your chance of survival after getting or attempting first blood.
I know, I know, why the AD carry spells? Because Yorick CAN carry. And an aggressive Buffed out tank is a bad day for the opposing team. other suggestions are teleport for tank defense on those turrets, or fortify for the bonus damage you get while it is ready and not on cooldown. JUST suggestions. your personal opinion may differ I DONT CARE! Like i said before its a GUIDE for a reason! Anyway post, enjoy, and dont be too harsh!
Masteries, oh Masteries... so many choices and only thirty points! figure it out i have been told. I found a symmetrical output that gives resistance for his tanky side and puts out for that AD you wanna smash them with! I want to know your preferable mastery setups. mine can always use improvement.
