As a former Shen main, take it from me that he's pretty bad right now.
He also doesn't fit into the current meta of support + AD bot lane and generally AP mid and AP top lane, because at the moment Shen is a fairly poor jungler. Shen really needs farm in order to be effective, and there's just no place for him to farm effectively given his fairly short range and low damage, and the fact that the AD and AP carries need to take priority. Cho'gath for instance can still be effective because of his ability to solo lane with his superior damage, range, and his health/mana regen passive.

not sure, depends mainly on summoner spells, i mean xin could destroy him if he had cleanse.
same goes for any other melee tough champion
but realisticaly speaking, gragas.
EDIT: Shen still really good though, when i solo top with him i rarely lose lane control, infact never have and his farming is amazing, he also harasses nicely with Q... and also with his ultimate it saves people from being fed really... Hes definitely still got potential to be tier 2, even with the nerf.

but good jungler and laner = good early game for your team though, especially since you're saving your team from causing enemies from being fed (ehmm that made sense right? :D)

They stated they're buffing his jungle, which disappoints me because I am a terrible jungler.
Regarding his global, that and his taunt are honestly the only things keeping him playable. His passive, his Q and his W might as well do absolutely nothing. Q does minor damage even early game, and gives a little bit of health and W blocks no damage at all, it's only good for the final ticks of ignite, a stray tower shot, or possibly a karthus ultimate. His passive is pretty poor now too unless you rush an early warmogs. (I hate warmogs)
Even his ult is fairly poor now - I mean it shields for 200 damage at level 10. That is two autoattacks from just about any champion. Obviously the teleport part of it is still invaluable though. Bear in mind it's also on a very long cooldown, so if it fails to save your ally or help your team in some way, it's extremely disappointing.
his Q works well early game (first 10 minutes) then it fades, i mean i like the idea of whoever hits the one with the vorpal blade gets health but is 30 health or what really useful late game, and also W is only useless because after using taunt you're wasted 70% of your energy, so i hope they buff him by giving him 50 more energy and also improving his Q slightly so his jungle is better, after that he should be sufficient for battle!

fiddle seems terrible imo. Not seen a good one.. ever, ive performed well with him myself, even solo'd baron at lv 11.
Swain is good i know but late game because really useless he may as well be a meatshield doing no damage, and one ignite wrecks him.
