I finally made an account today, just to say a big thank you for this guide~

I did a bot match using the default recommended items, and I found that wasn't really working for me at all, but then when I tested this, it was amazing~ (though, funny story, I eventually replaced everything but Seraph and Lich Bane with rabadons, and got 1000+ AP XD
Oh, that was fun.)

My first real match with her, I went 3/3/25, which I found hilarious, I'm just not used to getting so many assists XD

so, thank you for this guide~

Interesting concept, but Sona is just really squishy early to mid game and not really viable for most of the early period.

Doesn't the enemy support kill (not directly) u with wards? I guess that may work in normals/bronze, where nobody wards, but higher vision is what supports work on.

Thanks for the idea. I played AP Sona in ARAM.
Went 15/3/29 constantly spamming W on my team and constantly did hit and runs with my Q.
Was absurdly fun to play.

I started Tear, Haunting Guise, Ionian, Rabadon's, Arch Angel's, and then got a tomb before finishing Liandry's.

Went 1Q 2W 3Q 4Q 5W 6R 7Q 8W 9E 10Q 11R 12W 13W 14E

i was wondering if it would be viable to switch out the early TOG for a COH. i've mained sona for some time and i personally start with the flask thingy and a ward, then move on to the Chalice. i'm sure this would be quite a bit of work but going a bit more in dept on item choices would be nice.

+1 ... I used this build for a few games now and it is awesome, the regular Sona support build is so boring you just stand there and heal your ADC when they take damaged (really boring especially early game), but with this you can heal, harass lane opponents and help out mid (if it is necesary)

Please note the one I lost was because our top lane fed an enemy Xin Zhao extremely hard. This is defenitly an epic way to build Sona, thanks for this build and please update/ expand the guide ;)

First post of these forum, Greetings!

And, upvoted!

This guide has changed my way of using this champion, before that i was boring myself to death with Full Support (a role that i know is imprinted on the meta), this is a strong approach to making yourself useful to the team in every way, without being trollish or obnoxious.

You have to stay positive (especially in early game) and support the team with your spells. The Sightstone will give you enough wards to protect your lane, and even jungle check a bit.

I usually go with Flash - Clarity, because i like to early sustain my lane, without going back. Sure, in the end it is a wasted spell, but the advantage it gives me in my worst times (the early game) is better than a Barrier or Ignite spell at late game. This is subjective though!

All in all, i have had good result with this build. I vary the order of the items here and then, and sometimes i go tanky, but sticking to this build has given me amazing results! :D

I tried this build a few minutes ago. I was in 5v5 blind pick solo queue and I had called the role of support, locked in Sona and waited. Unfortunately, my team got in a fight over who was going to be in the top lane, so I ended up solo bot. Honestly, playing Sona solo bot versus a Miss Fortune and a Blitzcrank does not make you happy. I got help from my Fiddlesticks jungle after a while but overall, my early game was terrible. I wasn't able to get my stacks of Mejai's any higher than 4, and had a pretty bad score. I did stick to the build, and tried to stay positive. I apologised to my team for my mistakes and kept playing. The game got dragged out alot. Teamfights were happening and we got aced multiple times. The enemy team pushed all three lanes on the Nexus and things were looking pretty bad. I was able to deal out tons of damage with my Q and Lich Bane, but if I got caught by just anyone I got burst down and died. I managed to wait long enough for the rest of my team to engage and I picked up some kills and alot of assists. My Mejai's Soulstealer stacks eventually got to 20, and with a full build and Fiddlesticks' Will of the Ancients I had 1014 AP. I dealt alot of damage and we managed to defend our naked Nexus. We pushed on and with Lich Bane and 1014 AP I did TONS of damage on structures as well. You can just cast, autoattack, wait for Lich Bane to go off cooldown and repeat. We did win the game in the end even though we had no ADC, and I must say I was still able to support pretty well with this build. I had some pretty amazing saves with the heal and movement speed. My ult synergized pretty well with Fiddle's and Vladimir's ults. And when the game had ended, I looked in my match history and saw that the total damage I had dealt during the entire game was 200.000!

What I would like to say about this build is that it's a great option for solo queue. When you do not trust your adc (or your entire team), just run this build. You will still be able to support a great deal and you will deal alot of damage. I do not recommend this build for when you play with teammates you trust, because in that case there's alot more items that you can build thet will help the team much more.

+1 on thuis build, though

+upvote. Never played sona before but my team needed a supp. Chose her and quickly looked up a build and found this one. Amazing build and we won.
