I just read the OP (original poster's) comment, so i apologize if some of this has been discussed. Why are you flaming because of stackable items. They are the changing factor of a game. If you are getting wrecked so badly and are SO bad at targeting that you cant target somebody who is stacking, then either your assassin sucks, your support sucks, or your tank doesnt know how to tank.
Look at heroes and their designated roles.
Tanks: To take damage from the general enemy audience and MOST importantly stop the assassins from getting to the carries.
Assassin/AP nuke: To go and quickly take out the carry either during or before the fight by any approach necessary, whether they are jumping over a wall or flashing through the tank, just GET there, then GET out.
Support: Keep the assassin and DPS carry alive as long and as efficiently as possible.
DPS: To wear down the other dps by maneuvering around your tank or using shrubs/bushes to your advantage, and to deal the most damage as possible to all units in the least amount of time
Nidalee: YES she is her own class. She is an assassin/support/dps/TANK if you want her to be. Though i wouldnt do it.
So all kills should go to your DPS or Assassins, who should be the ONLY ones stacking. The tank can get a leviathans if he/she is good enough to grab assists with it, and is a good initiator as they will get alot. Support doesnt really need to be fed, they stay back and act pretty, and basically shield/heal the others, they should try to farm up enough and they will be fine.
Stacking items ARE NOT op if you are able to target more efficiently than they are, if you cant, then they would win regardless.
Ex. FEED YI, FEED WICK, FEED ANNIE, FEED AKALI, FEED KAT and its GG

TBH i am happy to see a person that owns have for example 2 snowball items, Like Katarina having Book+Levia. That means if we focus her 1-2 times he will be WAAAAAAAAY less threatening due to loosing alot of AP/HP.
Again, no, snowballs are ok, and they make you focus more :P you dont want to loose stacks so you are not that reckless :P

What dewo said.. it's a great addition to the metagame, and if you cant target a fully stacked item, as i said, you really need yo learn how to.

Tired of carries getting massive stacks? Stop getting ganked by them and start focusing them downnnn. It's hard to get 10 kills or 20 assists on a single character in pro-games since ganks are often avoided and the only real kills come from team fights of 3+.

You guys dont get the point . Anyway if you like this game stile its your choise . I played too much dota and got bored of losing gold when dieing . And inisiating fights that noone who follow cause of fear of losing gold . You want a gay passive towerhanging game or not ? your choise . Btw tower dmg to heros should be tons less . But thats something else. Gay towerhanging noobs all over the place . YOU COULD HAVE JUST KEPT PLAYING DOTA.These items are out of the games total logic ,,, thats all i am saying .

It really doesn't make people self-concious, it makes them a bit more daring, if anything. It's not like "Oh hey, I got 20 stacks, let me stay near the turret"
In order to get those 20 stacks, you probably couldn't feed for 10 kills sitting near a damn turret, it's more like you're roaming and ganking. Or getting away from turret divers etc. etc. The items don't shape the whole metagame. It's not like one item is overcentralizing.

Great english :) i dont argue with that . The op just mentioned that the items are overpowered. And there are many ways you can get 20 stacks . When you have 10 stacks you already got 100 ap bonus for 1200 g . You are POWERFULL at that moment . Even if you have 0 ap from the rest of your items your spells bring the pain. Now here is the deal :
Get a mejaias with max stacks on 10 , 1 stack for its kill and assist and 1% cd reduction for its stack ! You got a balanced item. Easy to worth its money and not overpowered when the owner gets fed. This way maxed mejaias would give 10% cd reduction and 100 ability power . And you will get some cd reduction even if you havent got it full. I really dont know why they still dont change these items ... I mean you see casters spamming mejaias in all builds .. even the owns that dont use much ap and they still dont change it . Riot games either has a luck of time or just lucks of good balance perseptive.
