Not a good idea. There's already plenty of reasons to attack the carry.

He means that they'll get focused even more because killing them gets rid of the passive aura benefitting the rest of the team.
Aegis auras dont stack either.
And you're damage output will be extremely lackluster all the way to mid game, so probably not a good idea (an extra 8 damage is miniscule)

It should be put on champions you'd normally not want to kill first. So that they could stick around with the aura for maximum efficiency.

I get that 8 damage is almost nothing.
The only defensive item that won't get you focused is a GA (at least in my ELO and BV gets you ability spammed because the casters are like "POP THAT ****!").
And I thought all Aura items stacked twice but not three times? Or are my friends completely wrong?

You want aura items on champions the enemy is less likely to attack or champions who will avoid combat.
Like Tanks, and passive Supports.

That means you can only receive 2 of the same aura, no matter how many people are using it.

so the fact that the Aegis aura is unique is meaningless then? or does that just mean that you can't stack it on yourself as opposed to stacking it on allies
You need to log in before commenting.
A good set of defensive stats and a little AD to boost your damage output.
Let's use Ashe as an example:
Start normally (Doran's blade)
Get boots of choice
grab whichever defensive item will help you the most (cloth armor or null magic mantle)
Build IE and LW as normal
Finish Aegis
Continue rest of build as normal
I can see where it could be very beneficial since two Aegis auras will stack (right?).
This idea probably needs some tweaking, but what do you think of the general concept?
