First off
1) I'm level 11 and have about 1600 ip atm, the champions I own are shen, master yi, poppy, kayle, and tristana. Should I get Champions I want now or wait until 30 to get all my runes ?
2) The champs I mostly want are Wukong, Vayne, and Malzahar. Which is the easiest to play so I may get more ip to get the other 2 quickly ? I know eventually I will get Wukong eventually but Vayne and Malzahar I'm iffy about.
3)I'm not really good with any of my champs. The only time I do well with my champs is when im playing master yi against extremely bad players. I would also like to learn to play shen better.
4) If I got Wukong, Vayne, or Malzahar would anyone be willing to teach me how to use them better and the same question with Shen since I already have him.
5) I consistently lose in normal matches. I have only won about 3 matches and only have around 156 takedowns. How can I improve ?

Thanks for the help, my summoner name is KingCasanova

1) don't worry about runes yet, be conservative with your IP, but feel free to buy champs you think are interesting. Also, you won't be able to buy many champs with 1600 IP
2)None of those characters are particularly "easy" to play, but I"m guessing you enjoy wukong, so go with that
3)practice, you're level 11, you have a lot to learn
4)check the mentoring forum
5)what's generally your K/D ratio and W/L stats?

1) Start purchasing runes at lvl 20 when you can buy T3.
2) Malzahar is great when it comes to farming IP and winning lower level matches. Vayne is still a good pick, though.
3) Find one champion you enjoy playing, and geek him/her.
4) I would gladly do it via chat as I have little to no time for games anymore.
5) If you lose a match, look back and think about what you did. Did you ward? Did you farm? Did you assist your lanes?

1) Always try champions before you buy them, other than that, feel free to use your IP on champions, make sure you're playing someone you enjoy playing :3 (runes help but any runes less than tier 3 runes aren't really worth buying) NOTE: the person above me is wrong, you have to be 21 to buy T3 runes.
2) I'd suggest waiting until you get to try them through the rotation before buying them, if you've already played wukong and like him it's not a bad idea to go ahead and buy him straight up with RP.
3) My question to you is: Did you start straight into normal PVP games or did you play versus bots first? I would very heavily stress that playing against bots will increase your knowledge of the game and get you more comfortable with the champions you want to play. You're still level 11, don't sweat not being the most IMBA player in the world.
4) The mentoring forum is great.
5) In response to the person above me, don't worry about runes, make sure you're last hitting minions, if you're playing shen remember to try to always be where the action is, and like I said before, bot matches are great places to learn the ropes :D

^disagree with number 3 above.
Don't learn the game by playing with bots. Play against bots when you want to learn how an individual character's skills work together, but that's it (and that should take no more than 2 games). If you want to learn how to play, you NEED to play against real people. Bots in no way mimic real people and their AI is extremely easy to exploit.

First, it's okay to lose, don't worry about it.

1. I will get a champion for each role so I can fill in the blank for a better team composation anytime and in any way. Then, I will focus on rune.

2. Perhaps you should try Malzahar since I don't see you have an AP carry yet. You can stick with Tristana and Master Yi for awhile before picking up Vayne so I think Wukong and Malzahar are both better choice as of now.

3. Play shen more and never give up. Trust yourself that one day you will be good.

4. Other has stated the answer.

5. I find watching replays of pro player helps. Try to find one on the champion you are interested in using so you can grasp how to use the champion at the same time. As Shen, you need to improve your map awareness so you can come to your ally in need most of the time.

Get Wukong. His stealth ability is a good "Oh****" button and will save you from any newbie mistakes you might be making >:)

Also his ult is easy to use as well.

Malz isn't as strong as other casters right now...I mean yes he can do the job, but his ulti leaves him open in team fights.

Vayne is all about proper positioning, she's a lot of fun, but relies heavily on your own personal skill level. TBH I'd learn another ranged AD carry first, someone like Caitlyn or Ashe. Ashe because she wins games with her ultimate. Caitlyn because her lane control and her long range harass are extremely good. Not to mention she has an extremely usefull escape mechanism.

Wu-Kong he's fun, there are better champs in terms of usefulness, but the fun factor he has is quite high.

For runes wait until you have access to the Tier 3 ones. IMO, if I were you, I'd just play free champs until level 30 and use the IP to buy runes for the ones I liked. Technically though a standard set of runes for AD champs are Armor Pen Marks and Armor Pen Quints. For AP Champs you'll want Magic Pen Marks, AP per level Glyphs and flat AP Quints, those are just basic set ups that I use. Other might have different opinions, but spending IP on Crit Chance or Crit Damage, Energy Regen etc. Is worthless from my expeirnce. Focus on basic sets to get you started, generic AP/AD champion set up, that way you'll be able to save your IP for champs AND THEN focus more heavily on different runes like Mana Regen, Attack Speed or Armor/Magic Resist..Just my 2 cents.

  • Focus on one champion at your level, because you need at least one champion you can play well no matter what.
  • Once you get that one champion, you can start concentrating on runes for that champion.
  • Save your IP for the future runes you are about to get and don't buy champions randomly, make a hard choice before buying the champion because usually you don't play that said champion after awhile (or is just bad at the champion) and that wasted IP could've been put towards your runes.
  • Practice, practice, practice. Don't die.
