Slight spoiler - I also lol'd at the old lady with a lightsaber and jedi powers.
It was a ME2 clone, and ME2 had a mediocre storyline compared to some of the stuff that came out in the last 10 years.
People also LOVED ME2.
Tri lane for life.
ME2's storyline wasn't bad in my opinion. Certainly better than DA2's. Maybe not as good as ME1's though.
By the way I edited my post with lots more explanation of my reasons after you quoted it :P.

da2 was ea's fault mostly to rush the game out to farm money off of it. and then afterwards bought bioware completely. ea has control over everything bioware does now.
EA games arent that great, only some are really outstanding, at least the not-outstanding ones are good enough. Bioware starts things well, but does **** after.
No one is like Square Enix though. A series of over 15 games and it's losing its bright only now (maybe it started some time ago).

general feedback i've been getting from the game is quite good...
Know a guy who does reviews and such and he's been playing the game... he's quite excited about it (he used to be on my guild in WoW when I used to play).
About the cost... it's pretty much the same as WoW. The main problem is bugs upon release date (like warhammer) and class imbalance for pvp reasons or even lack of endgame content (like Age of Conan). Tho i doubt it'll lack content from what i've heard...

Seriously, DA2 had some of the worst storyline I've seen in an RPG, let alone a Bioware RPG. The ending was ****ing horrible too, my response was literally: 'The hell? Is that it?'. All the stupid amounts of enemies attacking you in waves continuosly got annoying, most of the quests were pointless filler, and above all there were about three different dungeons that got re-used ten+ times each as ostensibly a different area each time.
Slight spoiler -

lol, true. "Go somewhere and kill someone". Then you get there and say: "I know this place".
Another thing they removed was the persuasion and rogue's lockpicking skill. Theres no persuade option and lockpicking is cunning based.
And the worst weapon in game is the bow. Only one tree of skills and no special tree? Really sad.
