Sure, he might hate on rails shooters a little more than the average person, but all his points are valid. The gameplay in ALL the modern shooters is dumbing down.
Modern war shooters are almost more like interactive movies than games.
But if the "movie" looks as good as BF3 does then I simply don't care :3

Played the multiplayer, is fine as far as I am concerned. Everything I awaited from Battlefield. Blew up some tanks, healed some guys, handed out ammo and put holes into a complete squad...
Life is fine :)
Playing this beast full HD with ultra settings just males me feel really really happy!

Just because most games nowadays have ****ty singleplayer doesn't mean that it isn't possible to make good singleplayer.
