Real Karma put the "battle" in "battle-mage"
The heal from Q should only be used as a last resort or to sustain pushes. Shield bombing the tank who is in the middle of the battle should always be #1 priority.
Leash is a 1 point wonder because of how hard it is to hit with.

I probably do focus too much on healing with Q, probably a hold-over from my MMORPG days.
Tips to play as Karma:
Max Q first. Good damage + AoE. The heal can be helpful, not like other heals, but still helpful
E second. The shield is life-saver, really strong, and has a nice AoE damage
W last. I dont really use this thing a lot, and its too difficult to hit anything with it
Items:
Archangels (almost infinite mana + AP)
CDR boots
Frozen Heart (mana (AA staff) + armor + debuff)
Shurelyas (CDR + HP regen + mana regen and a speed buff)
idk, get what you want here, the core is done already. I recommend RoA and Soul Shroud

Farm with E. It's faster and, you should be in a solo lane using shield bombs to deny their last hits.
Farming with Q requires only mana. Using shield bomb needs one mantra, and those things generally take long to come back if you dont have CDR.

Karma:
-Hardest character to do damage with, aside from Q cone (I usually need Mantra for healing, not to add damage to Soul Shield; and damaging with Spirit Bond is awkward)
-Actually, in my opinion Spirit Bond is the most awkward ability in the game and inferior to Zilean's Time Warp
-Sacrifices a "real" ultimate for lackluster buffs to her other abilities
-Q heal is annoying to land on multiple moving targets
-Q and W are at odds: Q requires you to be behind your team to heal, but if you want to do damage with W you need to leash someone at the back of the enemy team (obviously if you don't want damage from W this doesn't apply, but then see my first point)
I'm not saying she's terrible or useless, I just find her kit very awkward. Just my opinions...thought that's what this thread was for.
