I've noticed smart casting the headbutt is a pain in the ***, its one of the few spells I actually don't smart cast that isn't a skillshot.

Alistar with carries who have movement spells like Vayne, Ezreal, and Graves is a pretty amazing combo.
Vayne: Because you can get a double stun if they are ever near a wall, Also: Tumble
Ezreal: Because he can arcane shift to take advantage.
Graves: Can quickdraw into an easy max damage buckshot to get a ton of damage off really fast.
^all 3 combined with an Ali W+Q can dish out great early game burst.
