as far as i can tell, since wukong, riot's been trying to make a new class of champion. graves is a continuation of that. wukong's passive is kinda essentially that of graves. but anyway, skyrner was just odd. with some ranged and some close up abilities, he was an interesting experiment. then we got talon. great champ, because he was op. literally. designed to make use of a teamfight, he used a new idea of ranged and melee abilities again. then there was riven, much of the same, lacking some of the opness though. we got a break with the infinintly ranged mage xeriath, then on to graves. graves is again, designed to make it so he had incentives to go in and not. he stole wukong's passive to boot. and i don't know enough to make a declaration of the same. i bought wukong, he turned out to be essentially an experiment, and i'm tired of it.

credits to The Nameless Bard and greynadefor the awsome signatures, and me for the others.

Have you tried Wukong as of the most recent patch? Those buffs... wow, those buffs. They look slight on paper, but in game, Wukong is quite the terror now. Not to mention his Warrior Trickster got tweaked and is now actually pretty convincing.
And no, I don't think graves is stealing the spot wukong has. He's a ranged bruiser. Wukong is an assassin bruiser with a whole lot more utility in team fights (not to say graves doesn't have utility... wukong just has more). As for Skarner, he just needed buffs. He's incredibly scary now. Possibly over-buffed. we'll see. I haven't played him enough yet to decide. And Talon was a bit strong on launch. But riot killed his sustain, and i'd say he's pretty balanced now. Still deadly if played well, but rather worthless if he's not played well. Riven is a bit odd.... good but odd. I enjoy playing her, especially now that most of the bugs have been taken out of her abilities. She has a very unique play-style, however. Possibly some similar functionality to wukong, i suppose, but i'd more closely compare her to renekton. as for xerath... I don't even know. He's so hit - or - miss right now, i don't really know what to say about him. He's a lot like kog'maw. Clunky and awkward, but with absurd position lock-down.

tangent tangent tangent. any how, point is, wukong is very strong. go play him. win games.

If you ask me, any champion created is for "experimentation." If you just have another tank or carry that does similar roles and has similar abilities to the others of their class, what is the point in using the new character? Creating a character with new mechanics (even if they are "copies" of mechanics of another champion in a different class) opens new doors for the game and its players. Even if the experiment in question fails, the champion should/can have roles that it can fulfill for the team, and that is what really matters in this game in that regard. The question that is brought up with each champion is: What should/can this champion do that other champions cannot do?
At my level, good teammates are difficult to come by.
